If an XLM send is pending or a Coinbase XLM deposit is not showing, start with the transaction’s exact Coinbase status and its on-chain record. For a receive, verify the transaction hash, destination address, and network against the receive instructions Coinbase showed for your account. A pending label alone does not identify the cause. Check Coinbase’s current service-status information before assuming there is an outage; an XLM-specific incident has not been established here.
Why is my XLM transaction pending on Coinbase?
Coinbase lists several possible causes for a pending cryptocurrency transaction: temporary synchronization problems, network rejection, insufficient confirmations, fees, high network volume, spending funds that have not yet confirmed, or conflicts between transactions attempting to spend the same assets. These are general possibilities, not a diagnosis of your XLM transfer. The transaction details and explorer record are the useful evidence for your specific case. Coinbase’s pending-transaction guidance explains these causes.
If your Coinbase XLM send is pending
- Open the XLM transaction from the asset or transaction page and note its exact status.
- Choose View on block explorer in the transaction details and check whether the transaction appears and how many confirmations it has.
- Coinbase advises waiting at least 30 minutes and says most transactions complete within that time. This is guidance, not a guarantee for every XLM transfer. If the explorer still shows zero confirmations, Coinbase’s send and receive troubleshooting directs users to contact support.
Do not send the XLM again just because the first attempt is pending. First determine whether the original transaction was broadcast or confirmed; otherwise, you could create a duplicate payment.
If Coinbase says the send is completed but the recipient cannot see it
Compare the destination address and network in the transaction record with the recipient’s expected address and network. A completed on-chain transfer may not be reversible. If the address or network does not match, do not assume Coinbase can undo it.

If an incoming XLM transfer is missing
- Ask the sender for the transaction hash or a direct explorer link—not just a screenshot of their wallet.
- Open the hash using Stellar Expert, a public XLM explorer Coinbase identifies as a lookup option. Coinbase explains hashes and explorers in its transaction hash guide.
- Check that the transaction is present, its status is confirmed, and the destination address matches the receive address Coinbase displayed for your account.
- Ask which network the sender used, then compare it with the network Coinbase specified in your receive instructions. Coinbase says the receiving network must be supported and warns that funds sent over an incorrect network may be lost. Follow the account-specific instructions shown at the time of the transfer. - Refresh Coinbase by closing and reopening the app or browser, update the app if needed, and check account messages for identity verification or another required action.
If the transaction is confirmed, the network matches Coinbase’s instructions, and the balance is still missing, contact Coinbase support with the transaction hash and relevant account details. Never share your password, recovery phrase, or one-time codes.
Does Coinbase need a memo for XLM?
Use the receive screen for your specific Coinbase account and transfer. Coinbase’s general receive instructions say that if an asset requires a destination tag or memo, the sender must have that information too. A separate Coinbase Exchange article about missing memos lists some assets but does not establish a universal rule for XLM across every Coinbase product or account. When the product or account type matters
Coinbase.com and the Coinbase app are not the same product as Coinbase Wallet. Coinbase’s Wallet guidance lists Stellar (XLM) among networks no longer supported in the Wallet app after August 15, 2026, and says this change does not affect assets on coinbase.com or the Coinbase app. Use that notice only if the transaction involved Coinbase Wallet; it does not explain an ordinary Coinbase account deposit or send. Similarly, Coinbase’s page about deposits stuck pending for unconfirmed transactions is specifically for Coinbase Exchange. It describes confirmation requirements and node synchronization for that product; do not treat it as a separate XLM-specific service promise for every Coinbase account. When to contact Coinbase support
- Your outgoing transaction remains at zero confirmations after Coinbase’s suggested wait.
- The incoming transaction is confirmed on the explorer, uses the correct destination address and network, but is still absent from your Coinbase balance.
- Coinbase displays an account action, verification request, or error you cannot resolve.
Include the transaction hash and the relevant status or error message. Do not provide authentication codes or recovery credentials.
