The deal brought K-Line’s Speed-Tiller into the Case IH line: CNH planned a North American Case IH-branded launch in 2020, and Case IH’s current North American pages list the Speed-Tiller 465 and 475 families.
What did CNH Industrial acquire?
CNH Industrial announced an agreement to acquire K-Line Ag on November 4, 2019, and said the transaction would add high-speed tillage and residue-management equipment to the crop-production portfolios of Case IH and New Holland. The company announced that the acquisition was completed on December 2, 2019. CNH Industrial’s announcement and completion notice provide the timeline.
K-Line Ag was founded in 1993 and was headquartered in Cowra, New South Wales, Australia. CNH said it had expanded into North America in 2013. These are historical company-reported details, not indications of current stock or product availability.
Case IH is one of CNH Industrial’s agricultural brands; the buyer was CNH Industrial. In its 2019 annual filing, CNH said Speed-Tiller would be offered as a Case IH-branded product in North America in 2020. The current Case IH North American product pages continue to list the 465 and 475 family.

What is a Case IH Speed-Tiller?
Case IH describes the Speed-Tiller 465/475 as a high-speed tillage tool intended to “dig like a disk and finish like a finisher,” for either fall or spring work. The product concept combines residue handling and seedbed finishing in one implement. That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independently verified performance result.
Case IH says the indexed, independently mounted blades can be adjusted laterally to work the soil profile, with a design intended to reduce plugging in wet, residue-heavy conditions. The manufacturer describes fall operation at 3 to 6 inches for residue management and shallower spring operation for seedbed finishing. Actual results depend on field conditions, setup and operation.

In CNH’s November 4, 2019 acquisition announcement, Case IH global marketing manager and certified agronomist Dr. Rob Zemenchik emphasized that subsurface levelness matters alongside surface finish and residue mixing, because it can affect planter ride and seed placement. This was launch-era commentary about the product’s intended tillage goals, not a comparative test finding.
How do the Speed-Tiller 465 and 475 differ?
Case IH’s current North American pages distinguish the models chiefly by mounting and transport configuration. Their listed operating-width ranges also differ:

These are manufacturer-listed ranges, not a claim that every width is available in every market or suitable for every tractor or field. Case IH says Soil Command enables automated in-cab tillage adjustments on the specified 475 models; confirm availability and configuration with a dealer.

Case IH positions the Speed-Tiller for both seasons, but the intended work differs. The manufacturer describes fall use at 3 to 6 inches to manage residue and spring use at a shallower depth to prepare a seedbed. Whether one implement can replace separate passes or tools on a particular farm depends on soil, residue, moisture, crop system and the finish required. The available product descriptions do not establish independent yield gains or comparative field-test results.

What to check before comparing configurations
- Working width and transport width: Match field capacity to road and gate constraints; listed operating width alone does not establish transport dimensions.
- Tractor and hitch fit: Confirm power, three-point hitch or drawbar requirements for the exact configuration rather than extrapolating from another width or model.
- Field conditions: Consider soil type, moisture, residue load and whether the main job is fall residue management, spring seedbed work or both.
- Local support: Ask about setup, parts, service, availability and the specific features offered in your market.
- Price and stock: The reviewed manufacturer pages do not establish local pricing or current inventory. Use Case IH’s Speed-Tiller product page and its dealer or Build & Price pathway for a configuration-specific quote.
