The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional CMAT 2025 answer key and candidates’ recorded-response question papers on January 31, 2025. The challenge window closed on February 2, 2025, so candidates can no longer submit objections for that exam cycle. For current-cycle notices, use the official CMAT website.
What NTA released for CMAT 2025
NTA conducted the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) on January 25, 2025, as a computer-based test in two shifts. On January 31, it published provisional answer keys alongside question papers showing candidates’ recorded responses. Candidates could compare their responses with the provisional keys and challenge an answer through the designated CMAT link.
The January 25 examination involved 74,012 candidates, 178 examination centres and 107 cities, according to NTA’s 2025 notice. These figures refer to that exam, not later CMAT cycles.
When the challenge window closed and what it cost
Challenges had to be submitted by 9:00 p.m. Indian time on February 2, 2025. The separate deadline to pay the processing fee was 11:50 p.m. that day. NTA set the fee at ₹200 per question challenged; it was non-refundable.

Payment could be made by debit card, credit card or net banking. NTA said a challenge would not be considered without receipt of the fee. Only paid challenges submitted through the designated key-challenge link during the stated period were eligible for review. Because both deadlines have passed, the 2025 key cannot now be challenged through that process.
How NTA handled challenges
NTA said subject experts would review the challenges. If a challenge was found correct, the answer key would be revised and the correction applied to all candidates; results would be prepared using the revised final key. In its February 2025 result notice, NTA said challenges had been placed before subject experts and the result was based on the final answer keys.

The January 31 release was provisional, not the final answer key. The provisional key allowed candidates to check recorded responses and raise challenges within the stated window. After expert review, NTA used the final key to prepare the results. The CMAT 2025 Information Bulletin described a planned provisional-display period of two to three days, but the later public notice set the actual 2025 dates and deadlines.
