Cloudsmith announced a $72 million Series C on April 23, 2026. TCV led the round, with Insight Partners and other existing investors participating. The Belfast-based software company says it will use the funding to accelerate product development and expand go-to-market capabilities.

What Cloudsmith does

Cloudsmith describes its product as a fully managed platform for controlling, securing, and distributing software artifacts—the components and packages used to build software. Its announcement frames the platform as infrastructure for governing software supply chains as AI coding agents contribute to faster and higher-volume development. That is Cloudsmith’s stated rationale for the investment, not independent evidence of an industry-wide effect.

CEO Glenn Weinstein described the company’s positioning this way: “Cloudsmith is the only platform built for the way software is being developed today — by AI agents.” This is the CEO’s characterization, not an independently established market comparison.

Who invested, and how Cloudsmith says it will use the money

TCV led the Series C. Insight Partners and other existing investors also participated. Cloudsmith said the proceeds would accelerate product development and expand its go-to-market capabilities. The announcement does not provide a budget showing how the $72 million will be divided between those priorities.
