Chrysler has outlined a plan to add three crossovers below the Pacifica, but the timing and price of its mid-size SUV are not officially settled. A June 2026 Carscoops report says that model is expected as a 2028 vehicle and could cost under $40,000; Stellantis’ official plan confirms the crossover direction but does not state that date or price.
What Chrysler has officially said about its new SUVs
At its May 2026 North America Investor Day, Stellantis described a Chrysler expansion with three crossovers below the Pacifica: one mid-size crossover on the STLA One platform, plus two smaller models based on shared European platforms. The transcript does not name the vehicles or provide a firm on-sale date for the mid-size model. Stellantis’ Investor Day transcript
The official $25,000–$35,000 price space applies to the two smaller crossovers, not the mid-size SUV. It is an intended positioning range, not a published MSRP for either vehicle.
Is the new Chrysler SUV coming in 2028?
Carscoops reported on June 27, 2026 that the mid-size crossover was expected as a 2028 model and would target a price below $40,000. That is secondary reporting, not an official Chrysler launch date or confirmed price. A model-year label also does not establish when a vehicle will reach dealerships.

Why a new crossover matters to Chrysler
The crossover plan would broaden Chrysler’s lineup beyond its current minivan focus. Chrysler announced a refreshed 2027 Pacifica in April 2026; the U.S. LX trim starts at $41,495 MSRP. The Pacifica seats seven as standard, with eight-passenger seating available on Select. These are Pacifica details, not specifications for the planned SUV. Chrysler’s 2027 Pacifica announcement
Chrysler said in that announcement that more than 16.6 million Chrysler minivans and more than 1.15 million Pacifica models had been sold. Stellantis’ wider strategy also describes regional brands such as Chrysler benefiting from shared global assets, while directing 70% of brand and product investments to Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, FIAT and Pro One. That corporate allocation gives context to the shared-platform approach; it does not guarantee that any particular Chrysler model will launch. Stellantis’ May 2026 strategy announcement
