The deal would extend Choice’s reach into RV travel through an annual-fee membership network of more than 11,200 host locations. Choice set an expected closing date of October 1, but that date passing does not establish that the transaction closed.
What Choice Hotels announced
Choice Hotels said it agreed to acquire 100% of Harvest Hosts from New York-based growth equity firm Stripes and other shareholders. The announced enterprise value is approximately $130 million. Choice said it would fund the all-cash transaction with cash on hand and borrowings under its existing revolving credit facility. Choice Hotels’ September 30, 2026 announcement described the deal as subject to customary closing conditions.
The announcement named October 1, 2026, as the expected closing date. As of October 3, the cited announcement does not establish whether closing occurred. Accordingly, the supported description is an announced agreement, not a completed acquisition.
What Harvest Hosts membership offers
Harvest Hosts describes an annual-fee membership that connects RV travelers with more than 11,200 participating locations, including wineries, farms, breweries, museums, and other attractions. Members can stay overnight at participating businesses without nightly camping fees, according to the announcement.
#1 Best Overall
That description does not mean every host offers the same facilities, hookups, or amenities, or that a membership covers all costs of a trip. The announcement does not detail location-by-location services or reservation rules, so travelers should check the individual host’s information when planning a stay.

Why is Choice Hotels buying Harvest Hosts?
Choice frames the acquisition as an expansion from value-conscious hotel travel into outdoor travel, through what it calls a complementary, asset-light subscription platform. It says Choice Privileges members are particularly active in RV travel and sees an opportunity to connect that loyalty base with Harvest Hosts’ network, deepen engagement, introduce more travelers to the membership, and support growth in both businesses.

- Compact for travelling
Those are Choice’s stated strategic aims, not demonstrated results. The announcement gives no revenue, membership-count, valuation-multiple, or quantified synergy figures for Harvest Hosts, and it does not provide an independently sourced estimate of the RV market’s size or growth. Choice also cited its own scale—more than 7,500 hotels and over 650,000 rooms across 49 countries and territories—but those figures describe Choice, not Harvest Hosts.
Will Choice Privileges members get Harvest Hosts benefits?
The announcement presents a potential connection between Choice Privileges members and the RV network, but it does not specify a loyalty-program integration, new member benefit, or timetable. It says Harvest Hosts would continue as a standalone business under its existing brand, retaining its distinct member and host experience and existing relationships. Joel Holland would continue as CEO with the existing leadership team; employees were to become Choice Hotels employees upon closing.

No immediate changes to membership prices, benefits, host access, or booking rules are specified. The announcement therefore supports neither a promise of Choice Privileges benefits nor a claim that existing Harvest Hosts arrangements have changed.
What Choice said about the financial impact
Choice said it did not expect the transaction to have a material impact on its 2026 financial results and that the deal would not change its previously communicated 2026 share-repurchase expectations. These are management’s forecasts at announcement time, not reported post-acquisition outcomes.

What travelers can conclude now
- The announced transaction covers all of Harvest Hosts and carries an approximate $130 million enterprise value.
- The core offering is an annual-fee RV membership with overnight access to participating host businesses without nightly camping fees, as described by the company.
- The portfolio also spans RV community services, free peer hosting, campground availability alerts, and a UK-and-Ireland motorhome network.
- Choice has described its strategic rationale and intended operating approach, but the announcement does not prove the deal closed or that synergies or loyalty benefits have been delivered.
Choice Hotels’ announcement and executive comments are company statements, not independent assessments of the transaction. Its release quotes CEO Dom Dragisich describing the deal as extending Choice’s reach into outdoor travel, and Harvest Hosts CEO Joel Holland describing an opportunity to bring the experience to more people; Holland’s “millions of happier campers” language is a mission statement, not a measured result.
