One chocolate product—not chocolate nationwide—has been recalled in New South Wales: ASTOR Chocolate Wafer Stick, 150g. Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) says it contains undeclared cashew, so people with a cashew allergy or intolerance should not eat it. The recall covers ASTOR Chocolate Wafer Stick – 150g, supplied by More Impex Pty Ltd. FSANZ published the notice on 2 October 2026. Check the product name and 150g pack size against the notice; the recall is not a warning about all ASTOR products or all chocolate.

- Distribution: Asian grocers and online in NSW, according to FSANZ. The notice does not establish nationwide distribution or confirm that every retailer stocked it.

FSANZ coordinates recalls with food businesses and regulators to remove unsafe food from sale and inform consumers. Its figures provide context, not evidence about how many chocolate products were affected by this notice. Across 2021–2025, FSANZ recorded 197 recalls due to undeclared allergens, including 35 in 2025. Confectionery was associated with 28 undeclared-allergen recalls over that period; that category is broader than chocolate alone. FSANZ’s statistics page also distinguishes consumer recalls, involving products sold at retail, from trade recalls, involving food not available for direct public purchase.
