A secondary report from October 6, 2026, instead gave a Lang & Schwarz price of EUR 1.09 at 8:49 p.m. CEST, unchanged from the prior close; it listed EUR 1.08 as the bid and EUR 1.10 as the ask. That report does not establish what the headline’s EUR 1.08 or percentage referred to.
What the October 6 quote actually reports
AD HOC NEWS reported that China Construction Bank was at EUR 1.09 on Lang & Schwarz at 8:49 p.m. CEST on October 6, 2026 (18:49 UTC), unchanged from a prior close of EUR 1.09. The same report listed a EUR 1.08 bid and a EUR 1.10 ask.
The figures describe different parts of a quote: the bid is the price buyers were offering, the ask is the price sellers were seeking, and the reported EUR 1.09 was presented as the price. The report is secondary reporting, not a captured primary exchange feed. It does not confirm that EUR 1.08 was the last traded price at the time in the headline, nor does it support a −0.92% change.
Why the −0.92% change cannot be confirmed
A percentage move needs a price, a comparison price, and a defined timestamp or comparison period. The available October 6 report says EUR 1.09 was unchanged against a prior close of EUR 1.09. It gives no matching quote record that explains a EUR 1.08 last price falling 0.92%. Without such a record and its calculation convention, the headline’s percentage should not be treated as a verified market move.

Which China Construction Bank listing is involved?
China Construction Bank has two listed share classes, so a euro-denominated after-hours display should not be conflated with either home-market line. The bank’s official investor-relations FAQ identifies its Hong Kong H-shares as ticker 939 and its Shanghai A-shares as ticker 601939. HKEX filings use stock code 00939 for the Hong Kong line.
| Share class | Exchange | Ticker or code | Trading currency |
|---|---|---|---|
| H-shares | Hong Kong Stock Exchange | 939 (HKEX filings: 00939) | Hong Kong dollars |
| A-shares | Shanghai Stock Exchange | 601939 | Renminbi |
The EUR 1.09 observation was reported for Lang & Schwarz, not as the official close of either Hong Kong or Shanghai. A euro display may be a venue quote or currency-converted view; the report alone does not establish the conversion method. Compare listings only after checking the share class, venue, quote currency, timestamp, and whether the displayed number is a last price, bid, or ask.

How to verify a Hong Kong closing price
For the H-share line, HKEX’s End of Day Summary dataset includes daily high, low, closing price, and adjusted turnover for Main Board and GEM securities. It can help verify a dated Hong Kong exchange-day close, but it cannot verify a separate Lang & Schwarz after-hours quote. The exchange’s issuer-search index also lists CCB filings, including a Half-Year Report 2026 dated September 28, 2026 and a monthly return dated September 30, 2026; those filings are company records, not confirmation of the euro quote.

What investors can conclude
- The cited October 6 secondary report gives EUR 1.09 as the Lang & Schwarz price and says it was unchanged from the prior close.
- That report lists EUR 1.08 as the bid and EUR 1.10 as the ask; it does not verify EUR 1.08 as the last price in the headline.
- The reported −0.92% move remains unverified because the matching timestamped price and calculation basis are not established.
- CCB’s Hong Kong H-shares and Shanghai A-shares are separate listings; neither home-market close is interchangeable with an after-hours euro quote.
