Toyota Corolla Cross: compare gas and hybrid entry prices
The 2025 gas Corolla Cross L FWD starts at $24,035 before dealer processing and handling. Toyota lists the hybrid from $28,395; it has standard AWD. Toyota estimates up to 32 combined mpg for gas FWD models and 42 combined mpg for the hybrid. These are manufacturer estimates, not an individual driver’s guaranteed fuel economy. Kia Seltos: the least expensive listed trim includes AWD
Kia’s lowest-priced listed Seltos is the LX AWD at $24,690 before $1,395 destination. The S FWD is listed at $25,190 before destination, so the trim name alone does not identify the lowest-price drivetrain. Kia lists a 146-hp 2.0-liter engine and a 190-hp 1.6-liter turbo across the lineup; check the specific trim’s powertrain and equipment when comparing offers. Honda HR-V: compare the price with destination included
The HR-V LX FWD has a $25,400 MSRP, or $26,795 including Honda’s $1,395 destination charge. The LX AWD MSRP is $26,900 before destination. Honda’s pricing release gives EPA ratings of 28 mpg combined for FWD and 27 mpg combined for AWD across the listed trims. Honda’s release is the source for those prices and ratings.
Subaru Crosstrek: AWD is standard
The 2025 Crosstrek Base starts at $26,560 before destination and delivery, and Subaru lists Symmetrical AWD as standard on every trim. Its higher starting price than the lowest FWD models partly reflects that standard drivetrain; compare it with AWD versions of other models if AWD is a requirement. How to compare prices without being misled by the sticker
- Match the model year and trim. Confirm that each listing is for a 2025 model and compare equivalent entry trims, not a base price for one vehicle against a better-equipped version of another.
- Match the drivetrain. The Kicks S FWD is $21,830 while S AWD is $23,330, before destination. Kia’s Seltos LX AWD is $24,690 before destination, while its S FWD is $25,190. The Crosstrek Base includes AWD at its $26,560 starting price.
- Add required charges consistently. Destination and handling are excluded from the Kicks and Kia MSRPs; Honda publishes both its $25,400 MSRP and $26,795 destination-inclusive figure. Toyota excludes dealer processing and handling, and Subaru excludes destination and delivery. For the Trax listing, confirm the fee treatment rather than assuming it matches a manufacturer release.
- Compare the equipment and fuel-economy basis you need. Look at the exact trim’s standard features and drivetrain, then compare published estimates or EPA ratings on their stated basis. A lower sticker alone does not establish lower ownership cost.
- Get a current local quote. These figures are 2025 model-year list prices published around launch, not 2026 inventory pricing, dealer discounts, financing offers or a prediction of what a specific vehicle will cost today. Check available inventory and request an itemized quote from local dealers.
