For an 11-month CD, the reported rates were 2.50% and 3.00% APY, respectively. These are historical figures—not Chase’s rates today—and they do not establish a complete schedule of every CD term or standard rate.
What were Chase CD rates in April 2026?
Fortune reported these Chase relationship rates as of April 7, 2026; DepositAccounts reported the same figures on April 9 and noted that rates in its broader large-bank comparison could vary by location. The balance tiers shown are for the featured terms reported, not a verified schedule for every Chase CD.
| CD term | Deposit below $100,000 | Deposit of $100,000 or more |
|---|---|---|
| Two months | 3.50% APY | 4.00% APY |
| 11 months | 2.50% APY | 3.00% APY |
Fortune’s April 7, 2026 rate report and DepositAccounts’ April 9, 2026 report are secondary reports of these observations. They should not be read as a current quote or as proof that every term was available to every customer.
Are these Chase’s current CD rates?
No. The figures above describe rates reported in April 2026. Chase directs customers to its rate sheet for applicable rates and says not all terms may be available. Check the rate sheet and confirm the term, location-specific offer, and rate tier with Chase before opening a CD; the current rate sheet does not verify what Chase offered in April. Chase’s CD page and rate information are the primary place to check an available offer. The April standard-rate schedule was not independently confirmed from an archived Chase document, so no standard-rate figures are included here.

How Chase relationship CD rates work
Chase distinguishes standard rates from relationship rates. To qualify for a relationship rate, the CD must be linked to an eligible Chase personal checking account, and the CD and checking account must have a common owner. The April figures above are relationship rates, not standard rates.
Chase lists a $1,000 minimum deposit to open a personal CD and describes its rate as fixed for the selected term. Interest is calculated using the daily balance method on a 365-day basis. The disclosed APY assumes the money remains deposited until maturity; taking out credited interest reduces the amount earned. Check the applicable rate sheet and offer details for the specific CD you are considering. Chase’s personal CD information describes these account terms.

What to compare before opening a Chase CD
APY alone does not show whether a CD suits your needs. Compare offers on equivalent terms and check:
- Term and availability: Confirm that Chase offers the term you want; not all terms may be available.
- Rate tier and qualification: Check the deposit amount needed for the quoted APY and whether you meet the linked-checking and common-owner requirements for a relationship rate.
- Access to the money: A CD fixes funds for a term, and an early withdrawal can cost interest or reduce principal.
- Interest treatment: Review how interest is calculated and whether withdrawing credited interest would affect your earnings.
- Maturity rules: Note the grace period and what happens if you take no action when the CD matures.
Are there early withdrawal fees or penalties associated with a Chase CD?
Chase’s personal CD agreement, effective March 15, 2026, sets the early-withdrawal penalty by term length:

| CD term | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Under six months | 90 days’ interest |
| Six months to under 24 months | 180 days’ interest |
| 24 months or longer | 365 days’ interest |
The penalty is capped at interest earned during the current term and is deducted from principal, so an early withdrawal can return less than the amount deposited. If a withdrawal occurs within seven days of opening the CD or of another principal withdrawal, the agreement specifies a minimum penalty of seven days’ interest. Read the Chase personal CD account agreement for the terms applicable to your account.

For CDs with terms of 14 days or longer, Chase provides a 10-day grace period after maturity. During that period, you can change the term or withdraw principal without an early-withdrawal penalty. If you take no action by the end of the maturity date or grace period, Chase says it automatically renews the CD for the same or a similar term at the rate and APY in effect on the maturity date. That renewal rate may be lower than the rate on the maturing CD. Review the CD agreement and Chase’s maturity information so you can act within the grace period if you want a different outcome.
