The confirmed context is an earlier move: Hughes joined Hull from Wigan in summer 2024. PSRwatch lists a reported £4 million fee for that transfer, while BBC Sport reported that Hull rejected a later Coventry City bid of £7 million in 2025.
Did Hull City agree a new deal with Wigan for Charlie Hughes?
No reliable report or club statement cited here confirms a fresh Hull–Wigan agreement involving Hughes or its financial terms. The headline’s suggestion of a new deal should therefore not be treated as established fact.
