What is the current status of Chandigarh TGT recruitment 2024?
The application window for Advertisement No. 05/2023 has closed. The department’s 4 June 2025 notice said appointment offers would be handed to 198 candidates on 5 June 2025. It referred to the written test, provisional merit list and document-scrutiny rounds. The department’s official TGT recruitment page also lists later subject-wise verification remarks, provisional merit lists, joining and posting documents, cancellation orders and eligibility orders.
These milestones do not establish the current outcome for every candidate. Check the official page and the notices for your subject and application rather than assuming that the 198 offers resolved every case. A 11 March 2026 order addresses an eligibility finding for one Science-Medical candidate; it is evidence of a candidate-specific review, not a change to the recruitment as a whole.

The notice’s category totals were General 136, SC 55, OBC 82 and EWS 30. It also listed horizontal reservation entries for ex-servicemen and persons with benchmark disabilities. Category totals describe allocation within the advertised posts; they are not additional vacancies. The advertisement and subsequent subject-wise notices are the authority for how a particular post or reservation applies.
When did applications close, and what was the fee?
Applications were submitted through the Education Department website’s Recruitments section. These dates and fees are historical, not an open application opportunity:
- Applications opened on 26 February 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
- The application deadline was 18 March 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
- The fee deadline was 21 March 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
- The non-refundable fee was ₹1,000, reduced to ₹500 for SC candidates. Candidates with disabilities were exempt under the government instructions referenced in the notice.
What were the pay and selection rules?
The advertisement listed pay of ₹9,300–34,800 plus ₹4,600 grade pay, Level 7. Selection was based on a 150-mark objective-type test. The notice set a qualifying threshold of 40% for all candidates and stated that there would be no interview. The department’s June 2025 appointment notice says the written test ran from 22 to 28 June 2024.
