This is a dated snapshot, not a list of current offers: on November 20, 2025, Yahoo Finance reported a highest CD rate of 4.10% APY, while GOBankingRates reported a one-year credit-union certificate at 5.11% APY. The two publishers named different offers and their figures were not reconciled against the institutions’ archived rate sheets, so neither number should be treated as a verified universal best rate.

What CD rates were reported on November 20, 2025?

Yahoo Finance’s roundup reported a top rate of 4.10% APY and named a 14-month CD from Marcus by Goldman Sachs, a 15-month CD from Sallie Mae, and a 9-month CD from Synchrony. Those are the accounts and terms identified by the publisher on that date; the roundup described rates as declining since the prior year and noted that CD rates are correlated with, but not directly set by, the federal funds rate. Yahoo Finance’s November 20 roundup.

GOBankingRates reported a different top offer: a one-year certificate from Daniels-Sheridan Federal Credit Union at 5.11% APY, with a $500 minimum deposit. Its roundup also listed the following certificates and CDs. The figures below are the publisher’s reports, not independently verified archived institution rates. GOBankingRates’ November 20 roundup.

Institution Product as reported Term APY reported Minimum opening deposit
Daniels-Sheridan Federal Credit Union Certificate 1 year 5.11% $500
Dow Credit Union Certificate 3 months 4.15% $500
TotalBank CD 6 months 4.25% $25,000
United Fidelity Bank CD 2 years 4.25% $1,000
Credit Union of Atlanta Certificate 3 years 4.35% $500
Copper Basin Federal Credit Union Certificate 5 years 4.33% $1,000

The available roundup details do not establish each offer’s early-withdrawal penalty, membership rules, geographic availability, or all account terms. GOBankingRates cautioned that eligibility requirements may apply and advised readers to confirm terms with the institution.

Why do the same-day roundups disagree?

Yahoo Finance reported a maximum of 4.10% APY; GOBankingRates reported 5.11% APY. The available information does not establish exactly why the rankings differ. Coverage, rate collection, eligibility, and methodology may vary, but the discrepancy cannot be resolved from these reports alone. Treat each figure as that publisher’s report rather than choosing one as the definitive market-wide leader.

How to interpret these rates—and what they are not

APY is only one part of a CD decision

A higher reported APY does not by itself make an account the better fit. Compare the term, opening minimum, early-withdrawal penalty, eligibility or credit-union membership requirements, geographic availability, and deposit insurance. The published figures do not provide a complete, institution-verified comparison across those factors.

Separate CD offers from broader benchmarks

The FDIC’s national rate table published August 18, 2025 reported a six-month national CD deposit rate of 1.51% and a six-month rate cap of 2.26%. These are earlier official benchmarks, not November 20 national averages or offers. FDIC national rates.

The U.S. Treasury’s daily table for November 20, 2025 showed a 3-month Treasury yield of 3.90% and a 10-year Treasury yield of 4.08%. Treasury yields are not bank or credit-union CD APYs, so they should not be compared as if they were the same product. U.S. Treasury daily yield curve rates.
