The application deadline for CBSE’s Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026) was 22 December 2025; applications are not open as of 8 October 2026. The “118 posts” figure belongs to a separate recruitment advertised in March 2024, not the DRQ2026 campaign. For current notices relevant to your candidature, use CBSE’s official recruitment page.

What happened to the DRQ2026 application deadline?

CBSE’s detailed advertisement, dated 2 December 2025, set 22 December 2025 as the closing date for DRQ2026 applications. That date has passed. The advertisement does not support treating the application window as open now. Read the detailed advertisement (PDF).

Why does the headline say 118 posts?

The 118-post count refers to a different campaign. In minutes of its 141st Governing Body Meeting held on 25 June 2025, CBSE recorded that its vacancy notification dated 8 March 2024 advertised 118 direct-recruitment posts. That figure should not be read as the number of DRQ2026 vacancies or as evidence that applications for those posts remain open. See CBSE’s meeting minutes (PDF).

Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026) Not stated in the cited detailed advertisement summary 22 December 2025, according to CBSE’s detailed advertisement CBSE’s recruitment index lists examination, result and skill-test notices through September 2026

What should candidates do now?

  1. Open CBSE’s official recruitment index.
  2. Look for notices tied to your specific recruitment campaign and candidature, including applicable result or skill-test updates.
  3. Follow the notice’s instructions and dates, and rely on the index for the latest official update rather than an expired application prompt.

CBSE’s notice chronology shows that DRQ2026 moved beyond applications: it includes examination notices, results and skill-test notices, with notices listed through 24 September 2026. A notice appearing on the index does not establish any particular candidate’s result, eligibility for a later stage or current status. A Tier-I examination schedule for 2026 was also announced in a CBSE public notice dated 30 December 2025. Read that notice (PDF).
