CBSE scheduled Tier II of its 2024 recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates on 10 November 2024 in Delhi. The schedule, announced on 25 September 2024, set three posts for the morning session and Assistant Secretary (Administration) for the afternoon. The exam date has passed; this is a historical schedule, not a current exam alert.

CBSE recruitment 2024 Tier II schedule

The schedule applied to candidates shortlisted based on their performance in Tier I examinations held on 3, 10 and 11 August 2024. CBSE published the announcement as a public notice on 25 September 2024. It listed separate timings for four post categories:

Post Tier II date Time
Accounts Officer 10 November 2024 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon
Assistant Secretary (Academics/Training) 10 November 2024 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon
Assistant Secretary (Skill Education) 10 November 2024 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon
Assistant Secretary (Administration) 10 November 2024 2:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.

CBSE specified Delhi as the examination location. The post categories and times above follow its 25 September 2024 Tier II schedule notice.

Travel fare provision for candidates who took Tier I outside Delhi

The notice said candidates who had appeared for Tier I in cities other than Delhi would be paid to-and-fro sleeper-class, non-AC train fare. It required candidates to bring copies of their return-journey train tickets and a cancelled cheque for their bank account during Tier II. CBSE stated: “The amount due to the candidates will be transferred in their bank account.”

Later CBSE notices and candidate status

CBSE’s subsequent notice, dated 7 February 2025, recorded that Tier II for the relevant Group A posts had been conducted on 10 November 2024. It said interview-shortlisting status was displayed in candidates’ application logins; the public notice does not establish any individual candidate’s result.

The notice reported cancellations for Accounts Officer, Assistant Secretary (Biology) and Assistant Secretary (English), and cancellation of one vacancy each in Economics, Education and Hindi. These were the specific posts and vacancies named in that notice; it did not say that every post in the September Tier II schedule had been cancelled. See CBSE’s Tier II recruitment notice and recruitment index.

The recruitment index also lists downloadable Tier II question papers for examinations conducted in 2024, dated 28 February 2025.
