The launch report listed ratings of up to 85 engine hp and 75 PTO hp for the 90N, and 119 engine hp and 102 PTO hp for the 120N. The narrow-footprint tractors were positioned for orchards and vineyards as well as general farm work.
What Case IH launched in 2023
Successful Farming reported on March 3, 2023, that Case IH had added the 90N and 120N to the Farmall N series. The report also said the company updated three existing N-series models. It described the five-model range as spanning 74–119 hp and using four-cylinder, Tier 4A-compliant diesel engines. These are launch-era figures, not confirmation of the current lineup or specifications.

What the N series was designed to do
Case IH presented the N series’ narrow footprint as useful for working in orchards and vineyards, where maneuverability and fit between rows matter. The launch coverage also described the tractors as suitable for chores and broader farm tasks. Those intended uses do not establish that a particular model will fit a specific operation: buyers need to check tractor width against row spacing and site conditions.

What changed in the 2023 update
The launch report described new hydraulics and driveline changes intended to decrease fuel consumption, along with a 19-gallon fuel tank, ground-level refueling, and service-access features. It also noted cab and non-cab configurations. The report gave no measured fuel-savings figure or independent test result, so the changes should be understood as design claims and intended benefits rather than quantified operating-cost savings.
How the launch connected to Farmall’s centenary
Case IH said Farmall was introduced in 1923 as an all-purpose tractor and marked the centenary with a yearlong campaign during 2023. In its February 1, 2023 announcement, the company recounted milestones including its first prototype in 1923, its millionth tractor in 1947, and its five-millionth in 1974. Scott Harris, then Case IH global brand president, described Farmall as a tractor designed to replace horses and said it continued to serve as a workhorse on farms. That is the company’s characterization, not an independent product assessment. Case IH’s centenary microsite also said that, after Farmall’s reintroduction in 2003, the range extended from 25 to 120 hp and included more than 30 models. Those figures describe the campaign-era range, not guaranteed current specifications.
Don’t confuse the N-series launch with the European C-series announcement
Case IH France announced Farmall C Selection 100 C, 110 C, and 120 C models in November 2022. Its release described 101, 110, and 117 hp versions with Stage V engines, a 12×12 Powershuttle transmission, and an optional 20×20 creeper transmission. That was a separate European-market C-series announcement; it is not evidence about the 90N or 120N. Details are in the Case IH France release.

What the launch figures can—and can’t—tell a buyer
The reported ratings help distinguish the two 2023 additions, but they are not a complete basis for choosing a tractor. The available launch account does not establish current price, inventory, local configuration, or independently measured reliability and fuel economy. Before treating a model as a fit, confirm its current specifications and availability with a local Case IH dealer, and compare dimensions, PTO output, cab or open-station setup, transmission, emissions specification, and suitability for the work and row spacing involved.
