Capital Markets Banc (CMB) should not be treated as a safe broker. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) identified Capital Markets Banc as an unauthorised firm, while Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) said Capital Markets Banc and associated entities were not registered or authorised to provide investment services.
That does not, by itself, amount to a criminal conviction or prove that every person connected with the brand committed fraud. It does mean the firm failed a basic safety check: there is no verified regulatory authorisation in the official warnings cited here. Combined with withdrawal complaints, unclear corporate identities and questionable review activity, the evidence points to a high-risk, unauthorised broker that investors should avoid.

UK FCA warning
The FCA’s warning identifies Capital Markets Banc as an unauthorised firm that may have been providing financial services in the UK without FCA permission and targeting UK consumers. The warning lists these addresses and contact details:

The warning was first published and last updated on July 3, 2017. Its age matters: it confirms the FCA’s finding at that time, but it should not be presented as a real-time statement about every website or company using a similar name today.

The FCA also says customers dealing with the firm would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection through that unauthorised business. Those protections are important differences between an authorised investment firm and an unauthorised operation.
Read the FCA warning directly rather than relying on a broker’s own claims about regulation.
CNMV warning in Spain
Spain’s CNMV issued a warning dated September 25, 2017. It named:

- Joshua Consulting Ltd
- Joshua Development Limited

The CNMV stated that these entities were not registered in its records and were not authorised to provide investment services, including services connected with foreign-exchange transactions.

The corporate names in the warning are an important clue, but they are not automatically proof that every business using one of those names is the same legal entity. A proper company-identity conclusion would require matching corporate-registry records and other primary documents. The regulator warnings are sufficient, however, to establish that the named entities were not authorised in the jurisdictions covered by those warnings.

Websites and identity problems
Historical regulator records connect CMB with several domains, including capmb.com, capmbes.com and my.capitalmarketbanc.com. A later domain, capmb.co, has appeared on review websites under the Capital Markets Banc name.
According to the cited domain check, capmb.co was registered on July 24, 2024, uses privacy-protected registrant details and redirected to a suspension-related destination at the time of the check. The service assigned it a very low trust score.
Those facts do not prove that the 2024 domain is operated by precisely the same organisation named in the 2017 warnings. They do show why a current visitor should not assume that a familiar brand name, old reviews or a London address establishes a legitimate brokerage relationship.
Withdrawal complaints and customer reports
Public complaints about CMB repeatedly allege:
- withdrawals not being processed or returned;
- accounts becoming inaccessible;
- emails and telephone calls going unanswered;
- pressure to deposit more money; and
- losses after customers requested withdrawals.
These are customer allegations, not court findings or independently adjudicated facts. They should therefore be described as reports rather than proven events. Still, they are consistent with the central regulatory concern: customers using an unauthorised firm do not receive the normal protections associated with an authorised broker.
Trustpilot’s CMB listing shows 22 reviews, a 1.8 out of 5 TrustScore and 95% one-star reviews. It also shows no reviews in the previous 12 months, and the company has not invited customers through Trustpilot’s invitation system. Trustpilot itself warns that reviews are opinions and may not represent every customer’s experience.

The individual complaints should be treated as warning signs, not as a substitute for regulator verification. The FCA and CNMV warnings are stronger evidence than either positive or negative testimonials.
Why the review scores are difficult to trust
Another CMB profile on Reviews.io displays a 1.4 rating from 573 reviews, with only 8% of reviewers recommending the company. That number looks precise, but the page contains a serious quality problem: multiple recent, unverified posts promote unrelated recovery or cybersecurity websites, including references to Celineeloninc.org, Dizette.online and xwaxt.com.

The reverse lesson also applies: a high rating or large review count would not prove that CMB was authorised, solvent or safe. Broker regulation must be checked in an official register—not inferred from testimonials or a review widget.

Forex Peace Army labels the Capital Markets Banc/Joshua Consulting profile “Out of business.” That is a classification by a third-party directory, not proof of formal insolvency, dissolution or a court-ordered closure.
The practical point for a customer is more straightforward: whether the brand is inactive, has changed domains or is being reused by another party, an unauthorised broker warning remains a reason not to send money. A new website does not erase an old regulatory warning, and a similar name does not establish continuity or legitimacy.
What to do if you have already deposited
- Stop sending money. Do not pay a supposed tax, release charge, insurance fee or “verification deposit” to unlock a withdrawal.
- Preserve evidence. Save account statements, emails, chat logs, wallet addresses, payment receipts, telephone numbers, website addresses and screenshots.
- Contact the payment provider quickly. Ask your bank, card issuer, payment app or cryptocurrency exchange whether a recall, chargeback or fraud report is available. Recovery is not guaranteed, but delay can reduce options.
- Secure your accounts. Change any reused passwords, enable multi-factor authentication and check your bank and email accounts for unauthorised activity.
- Report the matter. UK consumers can report unauthorised financial activity to the FCA. Consumers elsewhere should contact their national financial regulator and law-enforcement or fraud-reporting service.
- Be wary of recovery offers. People who have already lost money are often targeted by a second scam promising guaranteed recovery for an upfront fee.
How to verify a broker before depositing
- Find the firm’s exact legal name, trading name, website and company number.
- Open the relevant regulator’s official website yourself. Do not use a link supplied by the broker.
- Search the regulator’s register for the firm and check that the website, phone number and permitted services match.
- Check the regulator’s warning list for the brand, domains and associated names.
- Confirm that the account will be held with the authorised legal entity—not an unrelated company with a similar name.
- Be especially cautious if the broker demands cryptocurrency, payment to a personal account, remote-access software or additional money before processing a withdrawal.
Final assessment
Capital Markets Banc fails the basic verification test for a safe broker. The FCA identified it as unauthorised in the UK, and the CNMV said CMB and associated entities were not registered or authorised to provide investment services in Spain. Public withdrawal complaints add to the risk picture, while the associated online review profiles and domain history provide little reliable reassurance.
The careful conclusion is that CMB should be treated as an unauthorised, high-risk broker and a likely scam—or, at minimum, an unsafe unregulated operation.
