You can’t sell or transfer a Fortnite account under Epic Games’ current rules. Epic prohibits buying, selling, or sharing an Epic Games account, and its Terms say an account cannot be sold, given away, or traded—even with the other person’s consent. If you no longer want the account, the compliant option is to request deletion through Epic Support; if you keep it, secure it rather than handing over the login.
Why you can’t sell a Fortnite account
Fortnite accounts are Epic Games accounts, and Epic’s account support answer says buying, selling, or sharing one is not allowed and violates its Terms of Service. Section 2 of the Epic Games Terms of Service, effective September 10, 2026, says an account cannot be sold, given away, or traded, even if the other person agrees. The restriction applies to the account itself; Epic does not describe account deletion as a way to transfer ownership or recover the value of purchases.
What can happen if you try to sell or share it
Epic describes possible consequences, not one automatic penalty for every attempted sale. Its Terms say sharing can lead to suspension or termination and loss of access to licensed products. Epic’s account security guidance also warns that buying, selling, or sharing may result in restrictions or bans. The account holder remains responsible for activity on the account and violations tied to it.
Fortnite’s Code of Conduct says enforcement depends on the circumstances and can range from a warning to a permanent ban. A permanent ban may mean losing access to games, V-Bucks, and purchased content. Epic does not publish a guaranteed outcome or a ban probability for an individual sale attempt.

Choose between keeping the account and deleting it
| If you… | What to do | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Want to keep playing or retain access to linked services | Keep the account and strengthen its security using Epic’s official settings and guidance. | You retain access subject to Epic’s account rules and any applicable enforcement. |
| No longer want to use the account | Contact Epic Support to request account deletion. Review Epic’s linked-accounts information first if services are connected. | Deletion is an account-closure route, not a sale, transfer, or cash-out. Epic does not say it returns the value of purchases. |
Epic’s Terms describe deletion through Epic Support. Before proceeding, consider which linked services depend on the account and review the linked-accounts information.
Protect your account from buyer and marketplace scams
Someone offering money for your account may also be trying to obtain your credentials. Do not give a prospective buyer your password or enter it on an external marketplace or “verification” page. Epic says it asks for a password only on official login pages. Sign in through official Epic websites or apps, and avoid suspicious links and attachments.
