Toyota advertises a 2026 Camry LE Hybrid lease for $289 a month, but the deal requires $3,999 at signing and allows 10,000 miles a year. Ford’s official pages require a ZIP-specific Lightning offer or quote; they do not establish a comparable monthly payment. To know whether a Lightning really costs as little as the Camry, compare written quotes with the same lease term, mileage allowance and upfront-cost assumptions.
What the Camry lease actually costs
Toyota’s offer page lists a 2026 Camry LE Hybrid at $289 per month for 36 months, based on 10,000 miles per year. The offer is shown as expiring November 2, 2026. It is available through participating dealers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas, subject to approved credit and vehicle availability. Taxes, title, license, registration, dealer options and charges are excluded. See Toyota’s offer details and disclosures.
The $289 figure is not the full cost of getting the car. Toyota’s example shows $3,999 due at signing, including a $3,710 customer down payment and the first $289 monthly payment. Across 36 scheduled payments, the monthly payments total $10,404; adding the full amount due at signing would double-count that first payment, so the example’s scheduled lease outlay before excluded taxes and charges is $14,114 ($3,710 down plus 36 payments). Toyota also lists a total SRP of $31,269, a net capitalized cost of $26,762 and a lease-end purchase amount of $21,576. These are terms of Toyota’s displayed example, not a universal quote for every customer or dealer. Toyota’s offer page.
What is established about a Lightning lease
Ford’s official F-150 incentives page asks shoppers to enter a ZIP code to see local offers. Its Lightning quote flow says estimates and incentives can change and estimates are not binding offers. The available official material does not give a specific Lightning lease payment that can be compared with Toyota’s Camry example. Check Ford’s local F-150 offers and request a Lightning quote for the relevant ZIP code, trim and configuration.

Ford’s 2026 F-150 offers page also mentions recognition programs for eligible first responders, military members and students. The page does not establish that a particular program applies to a Lightning lease in a particular location, or that it can be combined with other incentives. Ask the dealer to confirm exact model eligibility, stacking rules and terms before treating any program as part of the price.
How to test the “as cheap as a Camry” claim
Ask for written lease quotes for the Lightning and Camry using the same lease duration and annual mileage. A headline monthly payment can conceal a large upfront payment or exclude fees, so compare the complete cash flows rather than the advertised monthly figure.

- Brand new box. Real rubber tires. Opening hood and doors. Made of diecast with some plastic parts. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. Dimensions approximately L-8.25, W-3.5, H-3.5 inches.
- Match the term and mileage. Use 36 months and 10,000 miles per year as the Camry comparison point, or ask for both vehicles at another identical term and allowance.
- Compare upfront cash and scheduled payments. Record the monthly payment and every amount due at signing, including any down payment, first payment, deposit or other charge. Calculate total scheduled lease outlay without counting the first payment twice.
- Get the full cost disclosures. Ask each dealer to identify taxes, title, registration, acquisition and other fees, dealer-installed options, any disposition fee, and the per-mile charge for mileage over the allowance.
- Confirm eligibility and timing. Check credit requirements, vehicle availability, ZIP-code restrictions, offer expiration and whether the displayed incentives apply to the exact trim and configuration.
- Compare the end-of-lease terms. Note the lease-end purchase amount and any conditions or fees that matter if you might keep the vehicle.
Ford’s quote estimate is not binding, and incentives may change. Use the dealer’s written, location-specific lease worksheet for the final comparison; a quote for a different ZIP code, trim, mileage allowance or cash due at signing does not prove price parity.

A Lightning is “as cheap as” this Camry only under a clearly defined comparison. If the monthly payments are close but the Lightning requires much more at signing, carries different fees, or assumes fewer miles, the monthly figure alone is misleading. Compare both total scheduled outlay and cash needed upfront, and keep taxes and excluded charges visible rather than treating them as included.

Until a dated, ZIP-specific Ford quote states the Lightning trim, term, mileage, upfront payment and applicable incentives, the claim remains unverified. The official offer information supports the Camry’s stated terms, but not a conclusion that a Lightning can currently be leased for the same cost.
