Closing your account or submitting a privacy deletion request also does not guarantee that Cash App will erase transaction records.
Can you remove a single Cash App transaction?
Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service say, “Transaction information will be reflected in your transaction history in Cash App.” The Terms describe ways to view transaction records, but the reviewed official materials do not document a control for hiding or deleting an individual transaction. That is a limit of the documented controls, not an explicit statement that deletion is impossible. Cash App Terms of Service
If you are trying to make a payment disappear from your activity list, the documented options do not establish a way to do that. Cash App’s Privacy Notice also says that certain information, including prior transaction history, may be available to other Cash App customers to help identify the right person; it does not document a setting to hide a past transaction from the other party. What can you do instead?
Find a receipt or older transaction
The Terms say receipts are available in the app’s Activity section and account statements can be viewed by logging in. They describe access to 12 months of transaction history in the app and 24 months at cash.app/account. These are record-access options, not deletion controls. Cash App Terms of Service

Close or deactivate your account
Cash App’s Privacy Notice directs account holders to log in and visit Cash App support to request account deactivation or closure. The Terms say closure settles pending transactions and may involve conditions on remaining funds. Neither document promises that closing an account removes transaction history. Submit a privacy deletion request
Cash App provides a route for privacy requests, including deletion requests. Whether information can be deleted depends on the applicable rules and Cash App’s retention needs; a request is not a guarantee that transaction records will be erased. The company’s 2025 metrics report 11,617 deletion requests received, 59 denied, and a median fulfillment time of 3 days. Those aggregate figures cover requests received and processed from January 1 through December 31, 2025; they do not establish the outcome or timing for an individual request. Why account closure may not erase records
Cash App’s Privacy Notice, effective June 8, 2026, says it may retain information about users and their transactions after account closure. Its stated reasons include complying with laws and legal processes, detecting or preventing fraud, collecting fees, resolving disputes, addressing service problems, assisting investigations, and enforcing applicable agreements. So account closure and record erasure are separate outcomes: the account may close while some transaction information remains with Cash App. Cash App Privacy Notice
If a transaction is wrong or unauthorized
Do not treat hiding or deleting an activity entry as a remedy for an incorrect or unauthorized payment. Contact Cash App support and follow the dispute process described in the Terms. What Cash App’s deletion statistics do—and do not—show
Cash App reports that, in 2025, it received 49,217 access requests, denied 0, and fulfilled access requests in a median time described as “nearly instantaneous.” These company-reported totals, like the deletion-request figures, are aggregate metrics for January 1–December 31, 2025—not proof that a particular transaction record will be deleted or that a request will be granted.
