Not through a regular TSA storefront identified in official sources. Federal rules allow some government-owned property to be sold as one possible outcome, but that does not establish that TSA operates a public shop or that any particular checkpoint item is available to buy.
Why “confiscated” can be misleading
Items associated with airport screening do not all enter the same process. A passenger may voluntarily surrender a prohibited item; a traveler may instead leave property behind; and law enforcement may confiscate certain items. Unclaimed airline baggage is another separate category. The distinction matters because different rules and agencies may apply.

What federal property rules allow
Under 40 U.S.C. § 1306, an agency may retain voluntarily abandoned property that vests in the Government for official use. If the agency does not want to retain it, the statute provides for notifying the General Services Administration (GSA). Federal property regulations allow several possible outcomes for qualifying property reported to GSA, including transfer, donation, sale, or abandonment or destruction: 41 C.F.R. Part 102-36.
Those rules make sale one possible government-property disposition; they do not establish that every item is sold, that consumers can bid on checkpoint items, or that TSA maintains a public inventory or shopping channel. TSA’s directives describe agency procedures rather than a live list of items for sale.

How to check whether an item is allowed before you fly
- Search the item in TSA’s What Can I Bring tool.
- If the item is not listed or its status is unclear, contact TSA through AskTSA.
- Follow the screening officer’s decision at the checkpoint. TSA notes that an item generally permitted may still receive additional screening or be refused if it raises a security concern.
