Which edition matched each console?
Edition labels matter: a low price is only useful if the copy works with your console and covers the generation you intend to play. Activision’s editions guide distinguishes digital cross-generation purchases from the physical versions.
PlayStation
- The physical PS5 edition is for PS5; it is not a cross-gen bundle.
- The PS4 Cross-Gen Bundle includes the PS4 disc and a code for the PS5 version. To play that PS5 version, you need the PS4 disc.
- A disc-less PS5 cannot use a physical copy.
Xbox
- The Xbox Cross-Gen Bundle covers both generations within the Xbox console family.
- Physical copies require a compatible disc drive. They cannot be used on Xbox Series S.
For digital Cross-Gen Editions, Activision says coverage is within the same console family. Check the specific edition and platform listing before buying rather than assuming a purchase transfers between PlayStation and Xbox.
Rank #2
- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
What PC buyers needed to know
At launch, the PC Standard Edition was digital and available through the Microsoft Store, Battle.net, and Steam, according to Activision’s editions guide. Activision’s June 2024 announcement stated, “There are no Physical Editions available for the PC platform.” That describes the launch-era editions; the quoted PC prices above are the separate historical storefront prices reported in October 2024.
How Game Pass fit into the launch roundup
The October 2024 article also pointed Xbox and PC readers toward Game Pass. That reference does not establish a current subscription price, plan name, or eligibility. Activision says Game Pass subscribers need an eligible active subscription; check the current plan terms and whether the game is included before treating a subscription as a cheaper alternative to buying a copy.

What to check before relying on any deal now
The old roundup cannot tell you what a game costs today. For a present-day purchase decision, verify the current total for your country and the exact edition, and compare it with a subscription only after confirming current eligibility and terms.
- Confirm the retailer’s current price, stock, taxes, shipping, and any checkout code. The old Currys code GHOST10 is not a current offer established by the historical listing.
- Match the edition to your console generation and family, and confirm whether you need a disc drive.
- For PC, compare the live storefront listing for the edition you want.
- If considering Game Pass, verify the active plan’s current name, eligibility, and inclusion of the game before comparing total cost.
Activision lists the release date as October 25, 2024, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC storefronts, and Game Pass among the platform options. Its game page describes Campaign, Multiplayer, and round-based Zombies, with 16 Multiplayer maps and two Zombies maps at launch: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
