Contemporary reporting put the advertised total at 11,098 posts, but the application window and eligibility details should be read as reported summaries; later notices may have changed the original timetable. Anyone checking a current recruitment cycle should rely on the notice and detailed advertisement published by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).
What the BSSC Inter Level CCE 2023 notification covered
The headline figure of 11,098 vacancies was reported by Scroll.in on 21 September 2023 for the Bihar Staff Selection Commission’s 2nd Inter-Level Combined Competitive Examination. It referred to multiple inter-level posts, rather than one job title. The figure is a contemporaneous media report, not an independently verified extract from the official advertisement. The dates and conditions below describe what reports said about the 2023 announcement. They should not be used as current application instructions or as a substitute for the detailed advertisement governing a specific post or cycle.
Reported dates, eligibility and application fees
| Item | What contemporaneous reports said | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Vacancies | 11,098 posts, as reported by Scroll.in on 21 September 2023. | Reported headline total; consult the relevant detailed advertisement for post-wise vacancies and allocation. |
| Initial application window | 27 September to 11 November 2023, as reported by Scroll.in. | BSSC’s notice-board search result later listed a date-extension notice dated 1 November 2023 for Advertisement 02/23. The final deadline should be taken from that notice, not assumed from the initial dates. |
| Education | 12th pass or Intermediate-level qualification, as summarized by Scroll.in. | Post-specific educational requirements and accepted qualifications must be checked in the applicable advertisement. |
| Age | 18–37 years as of 1 August 2023, as reported by Scroll.in. | Reserved-category relaxations apply; the report does not give complete category-wise rules. Use the advertisement for the relevant category and post. |
| Application fee | Scroll.in reported ₹540 for other-state applicants and General/EBC/BC candidates, and ₹135 for SC/ST/PwD/Female categories. | Fee-category wording differs across reports. Do not treat these amounts as a universal rule; confirm the applicable category and payment instructions in the advertisement. |

The BSSC notice-board search result lists a later extension notice for Advertisement 02/23, but the official notice page could not be fetched for direct confirmation. BSSC official notice board
Selection stages reported for the examination
A Times of India summary described a preliminary written examination, a main examination and a skill test. Skill-test requirements may depend on the post, so candidates should verify the stages and any post-specific conditions in the applicable detailed advertisement. How to check a current BSSC notice
The 2023 dates are over. BSSC’s notice-board search result also showed later notices under Advertisement 02/23(A), including an application link listed in 2025, but the current status, dates and vacancy count for that later cycle are not confirmed here. Do not infer that applications are open from the existence of a past application link.
- Open the BSSC official notice board and look for the advertisement number and notice that match the recruitment cycle you mean.
- Open the detailed advertisement for that cycle. Check the post-wise vacancy table, qualifications, age cut-off and relaxations, fees, dates, selection stages and any skill-test requirement.
- Use only the application link and instructions shown for that notice. If a notice amends or extends a date, follow the later official notice rather than an earlier media report.
A Times of India report summarized the 2023 application process as registering on the official site, completing the form, uploading documents, paying the fee, submitting the application and retaining a printout. Those are secondary-source steps; use the current cycle’s official instructions for the actual procedure. Times of India’s application-process summary

Because the reported selection route included written examinations, preparation books and practice-question collections may be useful. Choose material only after checking the official syllabus for the relevant cycle and post. Compare syllabus coverage, language, the written stages covered, quality and quantity of practice questions, and the edition date. No specific book, edition, official syllabus match or BSSC endorsement is established here; a book cannot guarantee selection.
