When did registration start, and can you still apply?
The initial online registration period began on 27 September 2023. The 11 November 2023 deadline reported in the opening coverage was subsequently subject to an application-date extension notice listed by BSSC. Careers360 later reported additional application dates in January 2026. These are past periods: the sources do not establish that registration is open now, so do not use an old application link or deadline as current guidance.
Eligibility and fees in the original announcement
Contemporaneous reports said applicants needed to have passed 12th grade or an equivalent intermediate examination. They reported a general age range of 18 to 37 years as of 1 August 2023, with upper-age relaxation for reserved categories. The exact limits, category rules, and any post-specific requirements depend on the applicable detailed advertisement and later corrections.

The original fee figures reported by The Times of India were:
| Applicant category in the report | Reported fee for the original announcement |
|---|---|
| General, OBC, EWS, and applicants from other states | Rs 540 |
| Women, SC, ST, and Divyang applicants | Rs 135 |
Scroll’s contemporaneous fee breakdown used EBC/BC in its Rs 540 grouping. These figures relate to the original announcement, not a confirmed current fee schedule. Check the applicable BSSC notice for the rules and fee that apply to any later application window.

How the application process was described
The 2023 reports instructed applicants to use the BSSC website, register, complete the form, upload required documents, pay the fee, submit the application, and retain a printout. That process is not an option for this closed application window. For notices, extensions, and any current instructions, use the official BSSC notice board.

The original coverage described a preliminary written examination, a main examination, and a skill test. Careers360’s December 2025 account said a preliminary examination was required when applications exceeded 40,000, described normalization for an examination held in multiple phases, and noted that the main examination would require a separate notice. These are reported procedural details; the official advertisement and subsequent BSSC notices govern the actual process.
Careers360 reported on 26 December 2025 that no examination schedule had been announced at that time. That statement does not establish the schedule or stage as of 7 October 2026. The available information here does not confirm a current exam date; rely on the latest official BSSC notice rather than an older article or an inferred timeline.
