Verdict: Broker XP should be treated as high risk unless you can independently match it to a specific, authorised legal entity. I could not verify enough reliable information to identify Broker XP as an established, FCA-authorised UK broker. That does not prove that every website using the name is fraudulent, but it is not a sufficient basis for depositing money.
The important distinction is between a trading brand and the company legally holding your money. A convincing website, trading dashboard, FCA number shown in an email, or apparent profits in an account does not establish that the firm is authorised.
What is Broker XP?
“Broker XP” is not, by itself, a complete legal identity. A legitimate investment firm should clearly disclose its registered company name, regulator, authorisation number, registered address, permitted services and the entity receiving client money.
Without those details, it is impossible to confirm whether you are dealing with a regulated broker, an offshore trading website, an introducing agent, or an impersonator using a borrowed brand name. That lack of verifiable identity is itself a serious warning sign.
#1 Best Overall
- As a day trader, you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can decide when to work and when not to work.
- You only answer to yourself. That is the life of the successful day trader. Many people aspire to it, but very few succeed. Day trading is not gambling or an online poker game.
- To be successful at day trading you need the right tools and you need to be motivated, to work hard, and to persevere.
Do not confuse a trading platform with a broker. Software such as MetaTrader, cTrader or a proprietary web dashboard can be supplied to both regulated and unregulated businesses. Seeing a balance or successful trades on a dashboard does not prove that real investments were made or that withdrawals will be honoured.
Is Broker XP FCA authorised?
There is no reliable basis here to describe Broker XP as an FCA-authorised UK broker. UK customers should check the Financial Services Register before opening an account. Search for the exact legal company name, not merely “Broker XP”.
A firm is not verified because:
- its website displays an FCA logo or reference number;
- a caller quotes the name of a real regulated company;
- the number appears in a search advert;
- the firm claims to be “registered” rather than authorised;
- it says regulation is pending; or
- its details look similar to a genuine firm.
Scammers commonly copy the name, address and registration number of an authorised business, then replace the genuine website, email address and telephone number with their own. The contact details on the FCA Register must match the details you use.
Why the Broker XP offer may look convincing
Fraudulent investment sites often use the same basic sequence:
Recommended Free Tools
Rank #2
- An advert, cold call, social-media message or dating-app contact promises access to currency, shares, cryptoassets or leveraged trading.
- A representative encourages a small initial deposit and provides a personal “account manager”.
- The dashboard shows trades, gains or bonuses, creating pressure to deposit more.
- When you request a withdrawal, the firm demands tax, insurance, verification, release or liquidity fees.
- A second person may offer to recover the money for an upfront payment.
A genuine broker may charge disclosed commissions, spreads or account fees. It should not invent a last-minute payment as a condition of releasing your own money. Paying a recovery company rarely improves the outcome and can expose you to a second scam.
Broker XP warning signs
| Sign | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Unsolicited contact | Cold calls and messages are common routes into investment fraud. |
| Guaranteed or unusually high returns | Markets do not provide reliable, risk-free profits. |
| Pressure to deposit today | Urgency prevents proper checks and independent advice. |
| Crypto-only payments or personal bank accounts | These can make funds difficult to trace or recover. |
| Withdrawal fee or “tax” demand | A classic advance-fee fraud pattern. |
| Remote-access software | AnyDesk, TeamViewer and similar tools can expose banking and email accounts. |
| Regulator details that do not match | Potential clone-firm or impersonation activity. |
| No clear legal company name | You cannot establish who owes you the money or which regulator applies. |
How to check Broker XP before paying
- Find the legal entity. Look on the website’s footer, terms and privacy notice. Be cautious if these documents mention only “Broker XP”, a generic offshore company or no company at all.
- Check the regulator directly. For UK residents, use the FCA Register by typing the address yourself. Confirm the firm’s status, website, email, phone number and permissions.
- Check the warning list. Search the FCA’s unauthorised-firms and warning-list pages. A missing warning is not proof of legitimacy; warnings often follow after victims report a firm.
- Check the domain independently. Compare the website address letter by letter with the regulator’s record. Do not use a link supplied by the salesperson.
- Check where the payment goes. The recipient should be a business account belonging to the authorised entity. Never pay a personal account or send cryptocurrency because a representative demands it.
- Test the withdrawal process. If you already deposited money, request a small withdrawal without paying any additional fee. Do not add funds to unlock the request.
Companies House registration alone is not financial authorisation. A company can be incorporated in the UK without being permitted to arrange or provide investments.
Does Broker XP have FSCS or Financial Ombudsman protection?
You should assume that ordinary UK protections do not apply unless the exact firm and service are authorised and eligible. The Financial Services Compensation Scheme is not protection against trading losses, poor investment performance or a dishonest unauthorised website.
Similarly, the Financial Ombudsman Service is not a general recovery service for every investment scam. It may be relevant to an eligible complaint against a regulated financial business, but the firm, activity and circumstances determine whether the service can investigate.

Do not treat a statement such as “funds are insured” or “your account is protected by the FCA” as evidence. Ask which legal entity provides the protection and verify that entity independently.
What to do if you have already paid Broker XP
- Stop communicating about further deposits. Do not pay withdrawal, tax, legal or recovery charges.
- Contact your bank or card provider immediately. Ask whether a card chargeback, bank-transfer recall or fraud claim is available. Speed matters.
- Report the matter to Action Fraud in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, or to the relevant local fraud-reporting service if you live elsewhere.
- Secure your accounts. Change passwords from a clean device, starting with email and banking. Enable two-factor authentication and revoke remote-access software.
- Preserve evidence. Save emails, messages, website addresses, account statements, wallet addresses, telephone numbers and payment references.
- Warn your bank about identity exposure. If you supplied passport, driving-licence or bank details, ask what monitoring or protective steps it recommends.
Be particularly cautious of callers who know that you previously lost money. They may claim to be lawyers, regulators or recovery specialists and ask for an upfront payment.
Broker XP fees and trading conditions
There is no dependable fee schedule that can be recommended for Broker XP without first establishing the legal operator and regulated service. Do not judge the offer by its advertised spread or welcome bonus. The material questions are whether orders are genuinely executed, whether client money is segregated, how withdrawals work, and which firm is accountable.
Even a regulated broker does not remove market risk. Leveraged CFDs, forex and similar products can lose money quickly, and a platform’s displayed profit is not the same as cash you can withdraw.
Final assessment
Broker XP is not verifiable enough to be treated as a legitimate broker on the information available. The safest decision is not to deposit money until the exact company, regulator, permissions and contact details have been confirmed through official sources. If the firm contacted you first, promises guaranteed returns, uses messaging apps, or demands a payment before withdrawal, the risk of an investment scam is especially high.
This conclusion is about the identifiable Broker XP offer, not about every similarly named business. A different company using the name could have a different status, so always check the precise domain and legal entity.
FAQ
Is Broker XP a scam?
There is not enough independently verifiable information to call Broker XP a legitimate regulated broker. Treat it as high risk, particularly if it contacted you unsolicited, promises guaranteed returns or asks for fees before allowing a withdrawal.
Can I check Broker XP on the FCA Register?
Search the FCA Register for the exact legal company name and compare the registered website, telephone number and permissions. Searching only for the brand name is not enough, because unauthorised firms and clone firms can use another company’s identity.

Why is Broker XP asking me to pay a withdrawal fee?
An unexpected tax, insurance, release or verification payment is a common advance-fee scam warning. Do not pay more money to unlock funds. Contact your bank or card provider and report the matter instead.
Does a Broker XP trading dashboard prove my money is invested?
No. A dashboard can display invented balances and trades. Only an independently verified, authorised firm and reliable account records provide meaningful evidence that assets exist.
Can I recover money paid to Broker XP?
Contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider immediately and ask about fraud procedures, chargeback or a transfer recall. Keep all evidence and report the incident. Recovery is not guaranteed, and firms demanding an upfront recovery fee may be another scam.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Do not treat Broker XP as a trusted broker unless you can independently verify its exact legal entity and authorisation. Until then, do not deposit, install remote-access software, share security codes or pay a fee to withdraw funds.
