British Airways opened new lounges at Miami International Airport and Dubai International Airport in October 2025, introducing a design concept developed with Gensler. The Miami lounge is in Terminal E; the Dubai lounge is in Terminal 1. Both offer a full-service bar and a Concorde Dining Room, while Miami has the larger published footprint and a five-zone layout.
What British Airways announced
British Airways announced the openings on October 10, 2025, as the first showcase for a new lounge concept created with global architecture and design firm Gensler. The airline said the concept would guide future lounge developments and placed the investment within its £7 billion transformation programme in 2025. Miami International Airport reported that the Miami lounge opened on October 9.
BA’s Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, described the spaces as designed for customers to relax, dine, work or have a drink at a staffed bar. The airline’s stated aim is to combine British design identity with local influences in each city.
Miami lounge: Terminal E
The Miami lounge is in Terminal E, directly above its departure gate. BA’s October 2025 announcement gave its area as 13,000 square feet and described it as the largest lounge outside London solely operated by the airline. BA’s current lounge page says it welcomes over 220 guests and calls it the airline’s largest lounge outside London. Separately, Miami International Airport called it BA’s “second-largest lounge in the world” in its October 9, 2025 account; these are distinct source descriptions, not a single ranking.

Layout and design
BA describes the interior as combining British originality and charm with Miami Art Deco references. Its current page identifies five zones, including a sunken central lounge, a main dining area, focus pods, a full-service bar with runway views and a Concorde Dining Room.
Food and drink
The dining offer is described as seasonal Miami dishes with a British twist. The Concorde Dining Room offers à la carte dining for First customers. BA’s published examples include papaya-kale salad, Florida pompano, signature cocktails and mocktails. The opening announcement also mentioned Champagne and English sparkling wine, including Pommery Cuvée Louise 2005. These are examples published by BA, not a guarantee that a particular menu item or drink will be available on a given visit.

Dubai lounge: Terminal 1
The Dubai lounge is in Terminal 1 at Dubai International Airport. BA’s October 2025 announcement put its area at nearly 5,800 square feet. The airline says the design combines contemporary British style with local UAE influences, using sweeping arches, patterned metal panels, mirrored walls, fluted marble and bespoke details. BA named Al Tayer Stocks as the local contractor.
Facilities and dining
BA’s current lounge page lists seating, showers, a full-service bar and a bespoke Concorde Dining Room with à la carte meals. Published menu examples pair Middle Eastern Umm Ali with Eton Mess, and the page mentions Nyetimber English sparkling wine. Menu items and services can change, so check close to travel if a specific offering matters.

The published information supports comparing locations, stated areas and listed features, but not judging which lounge is more comfortable or less crowded. BA does not publish a comparable Dubai capacity figure on the cited page.
