Breeze Airways’ planned Burbank expansion was reported to lose three routes before any of the flights began: Eugene, Pasco and Redmond. Breeze said schedule changes were needed to make the most of its limited resources. Alaska Airlines had announced daily service on those same city pairs, but Breeze did not say competition caused the cuts.
Which Breeze routes were withdrawn?
Breeze announced five new routes from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) on July 17, 2025, with flights planned to begin in March 2026. The three most strongly corroborated as later withdrawn are:
- Eugene, Oregon (EUG): Breeze had planned two flights per week starting March 19, 2026.
- Pasco, Washington (PSC), serving the Tri-Cities area: Breeze had planned two flights per week starting March 18, 2026.
- Redmond, Oregon (RDM), serving the Bend area: Breeze had planned two flights per week starting March 13, 2026.
Breeze’s original announcement also included Arcata-Eureka and Provo. The available reports do not identify those two routes as part of the three withdrawals. Breeze’s July announcement and planned start dates are in its Burbank route announcement.
Why did Breeze cancel the flights?
Breeze’s direct explanation was that it sometimes adjusts its schedule to “maximize our limited resources.” A spokesperson, quoted by AirlineGeeks on November 6, 2025, said the airline regretted not beginning Eugene and Pasco service as planned “for the time being” and hoped to revisit those markets. The statement does not give route-specific financial results or identify a particular operational constraint. AirlineGeeks’ report quotes the statement.

Did Alaska’s competing flights play a role?
Competition is relevant context, but not a confirmed explanation. Alaska Airlines announced daily Burbank service to Eugene, Pasco and Redmond beginning October 26, 2025—months before Breeze’s planned March 2026 starts. Alaska’s announcement confirms the overlap, not that it prompted Breeze’s decision: Breeze’s quoted explanation does not mention Alaska or competition. Alaska’s Burbank announcement lists the routes and planned launch date.
There is no route-specific booking, passenger, load-factor, revenue or demand figure in the cited reporting to establish that weak demand or poor bookings caused the withdrawals. The airline’s statement about making the most of limited resources should not be read as proof of a particular commercial outcome.

Why do reports disagree about the third route?
AirlineGeeks named Spokane as the third route in its account, but the original Breeze Burbank announcement lists Redmond, not Spokane. Alaska’s announcement names Eugene, Pasco and Redmond, and FlyMag also reports Redmond as the third withdrawn route. FlyMag’s report supports that route list. On the available record, Eugene, Pasco and Redmond are the best-corroborated set; Spokane is a reporting discrepancy, not a confirmed canceled Breeze route.

The announcements and reports document planned service and schedule changes from 2025, not a live booking snapshot. If you are planning travel between Burbank and one of these cities, check current schedules and availability directly with the airlines for your dates. Alaska had announced daily service on the three overlapping routes, but availability should be verified before making plans. The cited reporting does not establish what Breeze offered affected customers in rebooking or refunds.
