Boxing Day 2025 fell on Friday, 26 December, and the promotions covered fashion, beauty, homewares, toys, sportswear and technology. Those offers have expired: this is a retrospective guide, not a live deals list. No evidence establishes one retailer or product as the definitive “best” deal. The useful lesson is how to compare the final price, eligibility and terms—not to assume a large advertised discount meant real savings.
What online Boxing Day offers were announced in Australia in 2025?
Retailer promotions differed by product, timing and stock. The examples below are dated announcements and terms, not independent confirmation that every item was available at the advertised price or represented good value.
| Retailer | What its 2025 promotion said | Important qualifications |
|---|---|---|
| Myer | Myer’s announcement of 23 December 2025 described online pre-access from 24 December and Boxing Day offers including up to 60% off selected men’s and women’s fashion, 50% off selected beauty and homewares, and 20% off toys. | These were Myer’s announced discounts on selected goods; they do not establish stock, final prices paid or the value of an individual offer. Myer’s announcement. |
| MECCA | Up to 50% off selected products on its Australian online site from 6am AEDT on 26 December 2025. | The offer ended when selected stock ran out. Gift cards and services were excluded, and the offer generally could not be combined with other offers. MECCA’s terms. |
| adidas Australia | A sale on selected products through the Australian website and official app from 26 to 31 December 2025. | Eligibility was limited to selected products. Its terms said legal consumer-guarantee rights were unaffected. adidas Australia’s terms. |
A historical roundup from Tom’s Guide also named Amazon Australia, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, Appliances Online and several brand stores as places covered during the 2025 sale season, across technology, appliances, smart-home products and headphones. That coverage does not show that those retailers have a current promotion or endorse any as the best choice. Tom’s Guide’s historical roundup.
Which categories attracted attention—and what that does and does not tell you
CHOICE reported that stick vacuums, robot vacuums, air fryers, TVs, mattresses, washing machines, fridges, portable air conditioners, dishwashers and coffee machines were among the most popular categories on its website during the 2024 Boxing Day sales. This measures reader interest on CHOICE’s site, not national sales, the range of 2025 discounts or whether a particular product was worth buying. CHOICE’s Boxing Day shopping advice.

For any of these categories, start with a product you actually need and an exact model or configuration. A category-wide discount—or a headline “up to” figure—does not tell you the saving on that item.
How to tell whether a Boxing Day discount was worthwhile
- Identify the exact product. Match the model number, size, colour, included accessories and other configuration details. Compare the same SKU across retailers where possible; similar-looking products may not be equivalent.
- Check price history. Compare the sale price with recent prices, not just the displayed “was” price. Historical trackers such as CamelCamelCamel or LowerSpendings can help with some products and retailers; availability and coverage vary. CHOICE has also recommended checking price history rather than relying on sale messaging. CHOICE’s advice.
- Calculate the delivered cost. Include delivery, installation and any required accessories, especially for bulky appliances. Compare membership-only prices, minimum spends and bundle terms with what you would otherwise pay.
- Read the eligibility and sale conditions. Check which products qualify, whether the offer is online-only or app-only, start and end times, stock limits, exclusions, return conditions and any limits on combining offers.
- Check product performance independently. A lower price does not make a poor fit a good purchase. For major appliances or electronics, consult independent testing and compare the features you will actually use.
- Make the decision on the final price. A discount percentage describes a promotion, not the value of the purchase. Compare the amount you would pay for the same product elsewhere and against its price history.
CHOICE noted that discounts on high-profile products can appear at other times of the year, too. There is no reason to buy simply because a product is labelled a Boxing Day deal.

Why “up to” discounts and countdowns deserve a closer look
The ACCC says retailers must make sale and discount claims accurate, clear and unlikely to mislead. It has identified countdown timers, site-wide claims that conceal exclusions, fine print that narrows a headline offer, and “up to” discounts where the maximum saving is not prominent or applies to very few items as potential concerns. Read the conditions and look at the final price rather than treating the headline percentage as proof of value. ACCC’s Boxing Day sales warning.
The ACCC’s Deputy Chair, Catriona Lowe, advised shoppers to compare prices and focus on the final amount payable rather than the advertised discount. That is especially useful for expensive purchases: a striking percentage can still leave a product cheaper elsewhere, or more expensive than its ordinary recent price.

How to avoid fake sale sites and payment scams
Go to a retailer’s official website or app directly instead of following an unexpected ad or message. Check the web address for misspellings or impersonation, and be wary of implausibly low prices, poor site design, unusual payment methods and unexpected links asking for parcel fees. CHOICE also recommends checking that a site is genuine before entering payment details.
The ACCC’s holiday-season release reported 21,255 online shopping scam reports to Scamwatch and $9.4 million in reported losses from January through October 2025. Those are reports and reported losses for that period—not a count of every scam or of unique people affected. ACCC’s holiday-shopping scam advice.

Consumer guarantees and extended warranties
Under Australian Consumer Law, consumer guarantees apply to products bought in Australia. Depending on the circumstances, a faulty product that does not function as it should for a reasonable time may entitle a consumer to a repair, replacement or refund. A manufacturer’s warranty does not remove those rights. CHOICE cautions that an extended warranty may charge for protections a consumer already has in many cases; consider its specific coverage and exclusions rather than assuming it adds necessary protection. For advice on a particular dispute or remedy, consult the ACCC’s current consumer rights and guarantees guidance.

Before Boxing Day, ABC News reported an Australian Retailers Association and Roy Morgan forecast of $1.6 billion in Boxing Day 2025 spending, 4.3% more than the prior year. That was a forecast, not a confirmed final sales result. Separately, CHOICE reported the same organisations’ forecast of $6.8 billion in spending across the four-day Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend in November 2025, up 4% on 2024. Neither figure proves that an individual product was discounted or that a shopper obtained a good deal. ABC News on the Boxing Day forecast; CHOICE on end-of-year sale forecasts and shopping.

What to take from the 2025 sale season
Boxing Day 2025 offered a range of retailer promotions, but the available evidence does not establish a single best retailer or independently verified best product deal. The sound way to assess a sale was—and remains—to verify the seller and the exact product, compare its recent price and performance, check all conditions, and judge the final delivered cost against alternatives.
