The US-dollar figure in the headline is the equivalent reported in the announcement; it is not the same as Québec’s separate C$85 million public contribution announced in 2024.
How much is Boeing investing, and what does the agreement cover?
Aéro Montréal said its October 3, 2025 memorandum of agreement with Boeing confirms C$110 million, reported as US$85 million, for Espace Aéro and the MACH initiative, also called Parcours Aéro Compétitivité. The announcement describes support for Québec’s aerospace innovation zone and the province’s aerospace competitiveness, including sustainable transformation and autonomy. Aéro Montréal’s announcement did not specify how the amount is divided between Espace Aéro and MACH.
The commitment is associated with Canada’s selection of Boeing’s P-8A Poseidon through the Industrial and Technological Benefits framework. Boeing and Québec have described other Québec aerospace commitments under that framework, but those earlier amounts have different dates and scopes.
Is Boeing’s US$85 million the same as Québec’s C$85 million?
No. The figures have different currencies, announcing parties, and dates. Québec announced C$85 million in public funding when it launched Espace Aéro on May 21, 2024. Aéro Montréal reported Boeing’s separate agreement on October 3, 2025 as C$110 million, equivalent to US$85 million. The matching “85 million” is coincidental: the 2024 figure is Canadian dollars, while the 2025 headline figure is U.S. dollars.

| May 21, 2024 — Gouvernement du Québec | C$85 million from Québec | Public contribution announced at Espace Aéro’s launch; Québec said that day’s public and private investment announcements totaled C$415 million. Québec launch announcement |
| May 21, 2024 — Boeing commitments described by Québec | Nearly C$240 million across three projects | C$110 million for an Aerospace Development Centre in Espace Aéro; C$95 million associated with Wisk’s autonomous electric passenger air taxi development; and C$35 million for landing-gear research with Héroux-Devtek. Québec launch announcement |
| October 3, 2025 — Aéro Montréal | C$110 million (US$85 million) | Boeing agreement covering Espace Aéro and Aéro Montréal’s MACH initiative; no allocation between them was stated. Aéro Montréal announcement |
| May 26, 2026 — Boeing | C$247 million | Boeing’s broader cumulative summary of Québec aerospace innovation, including work with Wisk Aero, Héroux-Devtek, and Espace Aéro’s Aerospace Development Centre, plus additional MACH Services program funding. Boeing’s 2026 summary |
These are not competing estimates for one identical pool of money. The 2024 amounts describe the launch-day public and private announcements and Boeing’s separate project commitments; the 2025 amount is an agreement for Espace Aéro and MACH; Boeing’s 2026 figure is a later cumulative total with broader scope.
What is Espace Aéro?
Espace Aéro is Québec’s aerospace innovation zone, launched by the province on May 21, 2024. Québec said it would span Longueuil, Mirabel, and Montréal. Its stated priorities are decarbonization and aircraft autonomy and safety. Québec’s launch announcement describes the zone’s aims and the technologies it intends to advance.

What is MACH, and how does it fit?
MACH is Aéro Montréal’s initiative, also referred to as Parcours Aéro Compétitivité. The October 2025 agreement names both MACH and Espace Aéro as beneficiaries of Boeing’s support. Aéro Montréal’s announcement does not provide a separate dollar amount for MACH, so the full C$110 million should not be described as funding Espace Aéro alone.

On October 3, 2025, Québec separately announced C$2 million to begin establishing the Collaborative Aerospace and Mobility Innovation Center (CCIAM), a planned project carried by Espace Aéro. The funding was for early planning: validating infrastructure needs, refining costs, and confirming partner contributions. Québec’s announcement does not establish that the center has been built or is operating. Québec’s CCIAM announcement

What the announced amounts do—and do not—show
The cited announcements describe commitments, investment announcements, and planning support. They do not provide independent outcome statistics demonstrating that Boeing’s October 2025 agreement has already produced completed facilities, research results, or a measured economic impact. Boeing’s C$247 million figure, reported in May 2026, is its own later cumulative summary covering a wider range of Québec aerospace innovation activity, not a progress total attributable solely to the October 2025 agreement.
