The 374-post headline referred to an earlier recruitment cycle: the 46th Batch application deadline was 25 November 2023. BLW’s later 47th Batch notice proposed 374 seats, but its August 2025 deadlines have also passed.
Are BLW applications open now?
The official BLW recruitment portal lists the 47th Batch as “BLW Act Apprentice-2025.” Its online registration and fee-payment deadline was 5 August 2025, and its document-upload deadline was 7 August 2025. Both dates have passed. Check the official BLW recruitment page for a new notice before applying; old dates and forms do not establish a current opening. [c002]
A search result has claimed that applications for 374 posts would open in October 2026, but the official BLW portal and notification cited here do not confirm that claim. Treat any such dates as unverified unless a current official notification confirms them. [c001][c002]
What the 374-post notices cover
The 374 seats appear in two separate recruitment cycles, not one continuous opening. Scroll.in’s 31 October 2023 report covered the 46th Batch cycle, with a 25 November 2023 application deadline. The later official 47th Batch notification, issued in July 2025, also proposed 374 seats. [c001][c003]

How the 47th Batch application was structured
BLW’s stated online process was to register, pay the fee, complete the application form and upload scanned documents, then print the confirmation page. Those steps describe the 2025 cycle, not a currently available application. For a future cycle, follow the sequence and document requirements in that cycle’s own notification. [c002]
Check eligibility in the official notification
The full 47th Batch notification is the controlling source for eligibility, trade-specific qualifications, reservations and selection. The available official information cited here does not establish enough detail to state age limits, marks calculations or category conditions safely. Applicants should consult the full notification for the applicable batch rather than rely on summaries or assume that 2025 terms carry forward. [c001]

Does an apprenticeship guarantee a railway job?
No. BLW’s official notice for the 46th Batch says there is no obligation for Indian Railways or BLW to provide apprentices a job after training. Completing an apprenticeship should not be treated as a promise of permanent employment. [c004]
