Bluehost Pricing in 2026: Plans, Renewal Rates and Extra Fees

Bluehost’s low monthly hosting prices require an upfront term. Compare 2026 U.S. introductory rates with renewals and account for domains, add-ons, taxes and billing terms.

Bluehost’s U.S. shared-hosting plans currently start at $3.99 per month for a 36-month term, but that is a promotional monthly equivalent—not a month-to-month bill. The term is paid upfront, and the same Starter plan is listed at $9.99 per month when it renews for another 36 months. To judge affordability, compare the full upfront term and the likely renewal term, then confirm your account’s price before buying.

Bluehost’s current shared-hosting prices

These U.S. English pricing-page offers are in U.S. dollars, require an initial 36-month term and exclude VAT and GST. Promotions apply to the initial term only; Bluehost says the plan renews at the regular rate shown in the control panel. The published monthly amounts are equivalents, not evidence that you can pay monthly at that price. Bluehost’s pricing page is subject to change.

Plan Introductory rate (36-month initial term) Renewal rate (36-month term) Listed capacity and features
Starter $3.99/month equivalent $9.99/month equivalent 10 websites; 10 GB NVMe storage; domain free for the first year
Business $6.99/month equivalent $13.99/month equivalent 50 websites; 50 GB NVMe storage; free domain, SSL and CDN; malware scanning and removal; first-year domain privacy
eCommerce Essentials $14.99/month equivalent $21.99/month equivalent 100 websites; 100 GB NVMe storage; WooCommerce; free domain, SSL and CDN; Professional Email free trial

For a rough hosting-only comparison, multiply the applicable monthly equivalent by the term length: a 36-month term at $3.99 is $143.64 before taxes and optional products, while 36 months at $9.99 is $359.64. Those calculations do not establish your checkout total; taxes, selected add-ons and account-specific offers can change it. Bluehost’s cards state VAT and GST are excluded. Its pricing-transparency guidance also notes that the displayed public price may not be the final amount for every customer.

Renewal rates depend on the term

Bluehost’s web-hosting comparison page publishes the following monthly equivalents for renewals at three different billing terms. These are renewal figures, not introductory offers; the full selected term is charged in advance. The comparison page covers more tiers than the limited selection shown in the current headline pricing cards.

Plan Monthly renewal term 12-month renewal term 36-month renewal term
Starter $15.99/month $11.99/month $9.99/month
Business $20.99/month $15.99/month $13.99/month
Plus $17.99/month $13.99/month $11.99/month
Pro $24.99/month $18.99/month $16.99/month
Premium $29.99/month $22.99/month $20.99/month
Enhanced $35.99/month $27.99/month $24.99/month
Elite $37.99/month $32.99/month $28.99/month
eCommerce Essentials $32.99/month $23.99/month $21.99/month
eCommerce Premium $38.99/month $33.99/month $30.99/month

Bluehost’s separate renewal-pricing help article conflicts with the comparison table on two values: it lists Plus monthly renewal at $20.99 rather than $17.99, and eCommerce Essentials 12-month renewal at $24.99 rather than $23.99. Do not assume the lower figure applies. Bluehost identifies the Renewal Center in your account as the best place to check your current plan’s renewal amount; the offer and signed-up plan details matter.

What can add to the hosting bill?

These charges depend on what you select, what is included with your particular plan, and what you keep after any trial or first-year inclusion. Check the checkout’s itemized summary rather than treating every add-on below as mandatory.

  • Professional email: Bluehost lists Professional Email at $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year per user, and Professional Email Plus at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year per user. The current plan page also advertises a one-month Professional Email trial that automatically renews at $2.99 per month unless cancelled before renewal. See Bluehost’s add-ons page.
  • Backups: CodeGuard Basic is listed at $3.99 per month per domain or $47.88 per year; higher CodeGuard tiers cost more. Jetpack backup tiers are separately sold annual products. Some hosting plans advertise weekly website backups, so compare the included feature with any optional backup service before paying for both. Bluehost’s add-ons page lists the products.
  • Security and privacy: SiteLock Essential is listed at $7.99 per month per domain or $95.88 per year, with higher tiers costing more. Domain privacy is listed at $15 per year per domain, although some plans include first-year privacy. Confirm what your selected tier and domain include. Check the add-on rates.
  • Domain renewal: Bluehost lists .com registration at $12.99 and renewal at $23.99; other extensions have different rates. Eligible hosting plans include a domain for the first year, subject to qualifying terms and extensions; premium domains are excluded. After the first year, renewal is at the then-current account rate. Bluehost’s domain page describes its domain pricing.
  • Expired-domain redemption: If a domain expires and passes the stated grace period, it can enter redemption. Bluehost says it may hold an expired domain for up to 30 days and lists a $99 redemption fee. This is a potential avoidable charge, not a routine annual hosting fee. See the domain-expiration terms.
  • Tax: Bluehost’s U.S. pricing cards exclude VAT and GST, and its guidance says EU VAT appears separately on invoices. The tax amount depends on the buyer’s location and applicable rules, so there is no single tax-inclusive total for all customers. Pricing transparency guidance.

Billing, auto-renewal and refunds

Bluehost’s User Agreement says fees are based on the chosen plan and add-ons and that payment is taken in advance for the full plan term. Services automatically renew on the renewal date. If you do not intend to continue, review the auto-renewal setting and turn it off in time; a low monthly display does not mean the plan is billed monthly.

The public pricing terms advertise a 30-day money-back guarantee for hosting charges. Bluehost says domain registration fees and most add-ons are excluded, and hosting cancellations after 30 days are not refunded under those public terms. If you keep a domain that was included free, a standard domain fee may be deducted from a refund. Setup fees are non-refundable. Check the contract for your specific product, especially for Cloud or other nonstandard plans. Bluehost’s pricing-transparency page and User Agreement set out relevant terms.

Bluehost describes shared-hosting bandwidth as unmetered or free of arbitrary traffic fees when use complies with its agreement. That does not mean unlimited use in every practical or contractual sense: acceptable-use and resource conditions apply, and Bluehost reserves remedies for excessive use that harms service. Review the User Agreement for the applicable conditions.

How to work out whether Bluehost fits your budget

  1. Choose the capacity you actually need. The current cards list Starter at 10 websites and 10 GB, Business at 50 websites and 50 GB, and eCommerce Essentials at 100 websites and 100 GB. Pay more when the listed capacity or specific features—such as the eCommerce tools—fit your needs, not just because a higher tier exists.
  2. Compare the full initial term. Multiply the promotional monthly equivalent by 36 for a 36-month offer, then account for taxes and any selected products. The introductory figure only applies during that initial term.
  3. Model the renewal you might actually select. Compare the monthly equivalent for a monthly, 12-month or 36-month renewal, while remembering that a longer term commits you for longer and is paid upfront. For conflicting public figures, use the account’s Renewal Center or your plan details.
  4. Audit inclusions and trials. Check whether domain privacy, backups, malware protection, email and store tools are included, for how long, and whether a trial converts to a paid service.
  5. Confirm the amount before paying. Review the live plan card and itemized checkout for term, taxes, add-ons and renewal terms. Bluehost’s public pages and promotions can change, and the actual price may vary by location, account status and offer.

For the dated U.S. English figures in this guide, the relevant public pricing pages were accessed October 8, 2026. Verify the live checkout and account Renewal Center at purchase time.
