Blue Bell said fan response to the tournament led it to bring back Cookie Cake along with the winning flavor, Groom’s Cake. In its May 1, 2025 announcement, the company said Groom’s Cake was returning that day and Cookie Cake would follow later that month. Marketing communications manager Kelli Remmert said, “We are happy to be able to bring back not one, but two favorite flavors.”

Was it really gone for five years?
A May 29, 2025 AOL republication of a Southern Living article said the flavor had appeared in 2019 and left shelves in 2020. The Blue Bell pages cited above do not confirm those dates, so the five-year hiatus is attributable to that article rather than independently established by the company’s announcement.
