The available price records confirm one sharp Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) selloff and quick rebound between September and October 2025, but they do not independently verify that the stock fell 20% or more five times or recovered from four episodes within weeks. That larger claim requires a complete price series and a consistent definition of both a drawdown and a recovery.
What happened in the verified September 2025 selloff?
Yahoo Finance historical-price results show BE closing at $86.27 on September 22, 2025, then at $68.69 on September 25, a decline of about 20.4% from the September 22 close. The stock closed at $84.57 on September 30 and $90.19 on October 1. Drawdown Alerts lists a September 23–October 1 episode with the same peak and trough prices and describes a recovery to $90.19. The dated closes therefore support a rapid rebound above the September 22 closing level.

Does that establish five declines and four recoveries?
No. One documented episode cannot establish the headline’s full count. The available records do not provide a complete, consistently calculated series showing five declines of at least 20% since September 2025 and four recoveries within weeks. Nor do they settle what “recovered” means: returning to the prior closing high, reaching an intraday high, or crossing another threshold can produce different dates and counts.
#1 Best Overall
A reliable episode count needs one price convention throughout—such as adjusted closes or unadjusted closes—and an explicit method for identifying each peak, trough, drawdown percentage, and recovery date. Without those choices and the underlying full series, the five-and-four figures should be treated as unverified rather than as established history.
What Bloom Energy does, and why stock volatility matters
Bloom Energy sells solid oxide fuel-cell systems that provide onsite electricity to commercial and industrial customers, including data centers, semiconductor manufacturers, and utilities. BE is therefore a share in an infrastructure business, not a direct measure of electricity demand or a consumer energy product. Bloom’s description of its business and markets is available in its investor-relations materials.
A share-price rebound alone does not show that the company’s operating performance improved, explain what caused the decline, or indicate that a future selloff will reverse. The price records cited above do not establish a cause for the September move, and the company’s reported growth should not be used to assign a retrospective cause to that trading episode.
What Bloom’s reported results say—and what they do not
In its Q2 2026 release, Bloom reported revenue of $1,065.4 million, up 165.5% year over year, and product revenue of $935.4 million, up 215.4%. It reported a 33.4% gross margin, $182.2 million in operating income, and $226.4 million in cash flow from operating activities. The company also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9–$4.2 billion. These are company-reported results and guidance, not independently validated forecasts. Bloom’s FY2025 release reported $2.02 billion in full-year revenue and attributed growth to AI data centers and continued commercial and industrial demand.

Bloom’s Q2 2026 release also identifies risks relevant to interpreting growth and guidance:
- Financing needs and debt obligations.
- Manufacturing defects and constraints in the supply chain.
- Delays in installation or utility interconnection.
- The challenge of expanding production capacity on schedule and cost-effectively.
- A possible slowdown in AI adoption or data-center expansion.
- Whether product and service backlog ultimately converts into recognized revenue.
The company’s Q2 2025 release said it planned to double factory capacity from 1 GW to 2 GW by the end of 2026. That was a stated plan, not evidence in that release that the target was later achieved. In its July 28, 2026 Q2 release, CEO KR Sridhar said demand for Bloom’s solutions was accelerating and customers were choosing Bloom over combustion technologies. That is management’s characterization, not independent confirmation of demand or an explanation for any specific BE price move. How to evaluate a claim about repeated drawdowns
When comparing episodes, check that each one uses the same measures and definitions:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Peak and trough: Record the price and date for both, using either closing prices or intraday prices consistently.
- Drawdown: Calculate the percentage fall from the chosen peak to the trough.
- Recovery threshold: State whether recovery means regaining the prior peak or meeting another defined level.
- Timing: Count trading days from peak to trough and from trough to the defined recovery date.
- Price adjustments: Say whether prices are adjusted for corporate actions or are unadjusted closes.
- Causes: Attribute a decline to news or business developments only when a dated, credible source supports that connection.
Until those details are available for every claimed episode, the defensible conclusion is narrower: at least one roughly 20% closing-price decline and quick rebound is documented in late September and early October 2025; the broader five-drawdown, four-recovery count is not established by the available records.
