Partizan 3×3’s 2024 deal with Meta Force was a sponsorship and media partnership—not proof that the basketball team adopted blockchain technology. Announced in August, it made Meta Force the team’s general sponsor and changed the team name to Partizan Meta Force. In October, the sponsor said it had rebranded as Holiverse and that the partnership would continue through the end of that season.
What did Partizan 3×3 and Meta Force announce?
On August 23, 2024, Holiverse Arena announced that Partizan 3×3, which it identified as part of Serbia’s JSD Partizan, had signed a sponsorship and media partnership with Meta Force. The announcement named Meta Force the team’s general sponsor. The team adopted the name Partizan Meta Force, and its jerseys featured a panther associated with the sponsor. Holiverse Arena’s announcement also said sponsor branding might appear on digital products such as NFTs; it did not announce that such products had launched.
The announcement described the arrangement as giving Meta Force an exclusive business-partner role in gaming and crypto. TechAnnouncer’s August 28, 2024 report characterized it as a naming, informational, and business partnership, and said the contract covered the current and following year. That duration is the outlet’s account; the contract itself was not made available in the reviewed coverage. TechAnnouncer’s report does not establish what happened after the announced period.
What changed when Meta Force became Holiverse?
On October 14, 2024, a Holiverse press release distributed through ACCESS Newswire said Meta Force had rebranded as Holiverse. It said existing partnerships, including Partizan’s, would continue and that the rebrand did not change sponsorship terms. The release also said the team would play as Partizan Meta Force through the end of the current season. Does the sponsorship prove Partizan 3×3 used blockchain?
No. The available announcements establish a crypto- and metaverse-associated sponsor, a team-name change, uniform branding, and the possibility of branding on digital products. They do not establish that the team used blockchain in its operations, issued a fan token, launched NFTs, or provided a blockchain-based fan service through the deal.
Holiverse described its platform as a decentralized metaverse involving gaming and virtual reality, an NFT marketplace, a social network, a decentralized exchange, augmented reality, play-to-earn, and real-world assets. Those are company descriptions of its platform, not independent verification of the features or evidence that Partizan deployed them. The distinction matters: a sponsor’s business and branding do not by themselves demonstrate a technical integration with the team.

What is known—and not known—about the deal?

How to interpret “blockchain in sports” in this case
Crypto-related activity in sports can mean different things: a sponsorship or venue naming deal, a fan product such as collectibles, or a technical system used by a team or league. Partizan 3×3’s documented arrangement fits the sponsorship category. The mention of possible NFT branding is not the same as evidence that fans received an NFT product, and neither the team-name change nor jersey branding demonstrates blockchain use.
That makes this a sports-business story about sponsor identity and branding, rather than a verified example of a basketball team integrating blockchain. The distinction helps readers assess what was actually announced without treating a sponsor’s platform claims as proof of a team technology rollout.
