As of August 18, 2026, the official pages available for several prominent providers still describe 2025 promotions. This guide labels those as historical benchmarks—not current deals—and lists providers to watch without presenting unverified prices as live offers. Recheck each provider’s official checkout before paying: sale dates, inventory, upfront charges, and renewal rates can change.
Black Friday 2026 VPS deals at a glance
“Best” depends on what the server must do and who will maintain it. The table separates historical promotional evidence from providers with no verified 2026 VPS offer. A displayed price is not proof that the promotion is active or that stock remains.
| Provider | 2026 status as of Aug. 18, 2026 | Historical or current signal | Potential fit | Key qualification |
| Hostinger | 2025 benchmark / provider to watch | Its page describes a 2025 campaign, with displayed plans from $6.49/month equivalent and up to 70% off. | Budget-conscious beginners comparing managed features and resources | Upfront multiyear billing; renewal rates are higher. The page’s newer title does not make the offer a 2026 deal. |
| Liquid Web | 2025 benchmark / provider to watch | The page displays cloud VPS from $5/month and managed VPS from $29.50/month, while identifying the campaign as ended Dec. 5, 2025. | Managed-hosting shoppers | The displayed managed VPS discount is for two months, not necessarily the full term. |
| ScalaHosting | 2025 benchmark / provider to watch | Its 2025 article advertised up to 80% off managed cloud VPS and up to 67% off unmanaged cloud VPS. | Readers comparing managed and unmanaged VPS | The promotion ran Oct. 30–Dec. 1, 2025; those terms cannot be carried forward. |
| RackNerd | 2025 benchmark / unavailable historical offers | Its 2025 cart listed annual KVM VPS offers from $10.60/year to $62.49/year. | Experienced administrators looking for a very low annual price | The listed plans are marked unavailable. They are historical benchmarks, not purchasable 2026 deals. |
| InMotion Hosting | No 2026 VPS offer verified | Its press page records a 2025 Black Friday campaign launch. | Business users assessing support-oriented hosting | No exact 2026 VPS plan or price is established. |
| DreamHost | No 2026 Black Friday VPS offer verified | Its current VPS page provides bandwidth and outbound-transfer comparison context. | Buyers who need to understand transfer costs | Standard plan information is not a Black Friday promotion. |
| Bluehost | No 2026 Black Friday VPS offer verified | Its current product page describes self-managed VPS plans. | Users seeking a conventional self-managed VPS option | Confirm any sale applies to VPS, not shared or WordPress hosting. |
| Cloudways | No 2026 Black Friday VPS offer verified | A managed layer over third-party cloud infrastructure is a relevant alternative. | People who want managed cloud convenience | Compare the full managed-service cost with direct infrastructure and its bandwidth terms. |
| Contabo | No 2026 Black Friday VPS offer verified | A budget VPS alternative to monitor. | Price-sensitive buyers seeking more listed resources | Verify support, location, performance expectations, and renewal terms for the specific plan. |
| Kamatera | No 2026 Black Friday VPS offer verified | A configurable cloud VPS alternative to compare with seasonal offers. | Projects that value flexible billing and configuration | Compare its ordinary modular pricing with the full commitment required by a sale. |
As of the verification date above, none of these entries is a confirmed 2026 Black Friday deal. Treat a campaign as confirmed only when the provider publishes 2026 terms and the official checkout shows the discount for the exact selected plan.
What the historical offers actually show
These examples help set expectations for campaign formats and costs, but they are not live recommendations. Read the billing period and promotional duration alongside any monthly equivalent.
#1 Best Overall
Hostinger: multiyear pricing and renewal rates
Hostinger’s page says its Black Friday VPS promotion ran from Oct. 13 to Dec. 8, 2025. It displays the following monthly equivalents for two-year terms; the provider says plans are paid upfront and the monthly amount is calculated by dividing the term price by its months. These are displayed historical/current page signals, not verified 2026 prices.
| Plan | Displayed monthly equivalent | Displayed renewal rate | Term shown |
| KVM 1 | $6.49/month | $11.99/month | Two years |
| KVM 2 | $8.79/month | $14.99/month | Two years |
| KVM 4 | $12.99/month | $28.99/month | Two years |
| KVM 8 | $25.99/month | $49.99/month | Two years |
The page also lists AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, weekly backups, a 1 Gbps network, firewall management, API access, and root-level VPS functionality. Treat these as claims about the listed Hostinger plans, not features guaranteed by other providers or every VPS product.
Liquid Web: a short discount can look bigger than it is
Liquid Web’s page says its 2025 promotion ended Dec. 5, 2025. It displays cloud VPS from $5/month and managed VPS at $29.50/month from $59/month; the managed VPS discount is specified as 50% for two months. That short promotional window is materially different from a discounted rate lasting a full annual term. The page does not establish a 2026 offer.
Rank #2
ScalaHosting: managed and unmanaged are separate offers
ScalaHosting’s official 2025 article advertised up to 80% off managed cloud VPS and up to 67% off unmanaged cloud VPS, for a campaign running Oct. 30–Dec. 1, 2025. “Up to” describes a maximum, not the discount on every plan. Compare the exact plan, term, renewal price, and support scope if a 2026 campaign appears.

RackNerd: an annual bargain is not equivalent to managed hosting
RackNerd’s 2025 Black Friday cart listed annual KVM offers, all marked unavailable: $10.60/year for 1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 25 GB SSD, and 2 TB bandwidth; $18.66/year for 2.5 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 45 GB SSD, and 3 TB; $29.98/year for 4 GB RAM, 3 vCPU, 65 GB SSD, and 6.5 TB; $44.98/year for 6 GB RAM, 5 vCPU, 100 GB SSD, and 10 TB; and $62.49/year for 8 GB RAM, 6 vCPU, 150 GB SSD, and 20 TB. These prices are historical, annual charges—not monthly rates—and the cart does not establish stock for 2026. A low-cost unmanaged VPS also shifts server administration to the customer.
How to tell whether an offer is a real VPS deal
A Black Friday label alone is not evidence of a meaningful discount. Identify what is discounted and when the discount ends.
Rank #3
- Genuine VPS discount: The official price for a virtual private server is reduced for a stated plan and term.
- Introductory price: A lower first-term rate renews at a higher price. Compare both, not just the teaser rate.
- Plan-specific coupon: A code may apply only to selected tiers or customers; test it against the exact plan at official checkout.
- Free months or extended term: Calculate the total charge and effective monthly cost across the entire purchased period.
- Short-lived discount: A sale covering two or three months can have little effect on a year’s total cost.
- Prepayment offer: The monthly equivalent may require paying one, two, or more years upfront.
- Cloud credit: Credits reduce eligible usage charges but may expire, exclude services, or require a payment method; they are not the same as a fixed-price VPS plan.
- Managed-only offer: A discount for managed VPS does not automatically apply to an unmanaged plan, or vice versa.
- Not a VPS offer: A shared-hosting, WordPress-hosting, or standard-price promotion should not be counted as a VPS deal.
For a fair comparison, calculate total first-term cost = promotional rate × promotional months + setup, panel, backup, managed-support, and applicable tax charges. Then divide the full amount charged upfront by the number of months purchased to find the effective monthly price. Keep the billing term visible: $10.60 for a year is not comparable to $5 per month without that distinction.
Choose the service level before comparing discounts
Managed VPS
With managed hosting, the provider may assist with operating-system updates, security, monitoring, control-panel setup, backups, migration, and troubleshooting. The precise scope varies: “managed” is not a universal service promise. Ask what support covers, whether it includes application-level work, and whether backups or restoration cost extra. This route is usually more appropriate for a business that does not want to administer Linux servers.

On an unmanaged VPS, customers normally handle SSH access, updates, firewall rules, web-server configuration, malware response, backups, performance tuning, and recovery from configuration errors. It can suit developers and experienced administrators who want control and can maintain the system. A control panel does not, by itself, mean the provider will administer the operating system or repair application security issues.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compare the server, not the percentage off
Use a weighted score rather than ranking by the advertised discount. A practical starting model gives 20% to first-term cost, 15% each to renewal transparency and CPU/RAM value, 10% each to storage and bandwidth, 10% to managed support, 7.5% to backup and recovery, 5% each to location/network and refund/cancellation terms, and 2.5% to reputation and operational transparency. Change the weights to match the workload.
| Criterion | Suggested weight | What to check |
| Total first-term cost | 20% | Upfront charge and all required add-ons |
| Renewal price and transparency | 15% | Rate and billing period after the promotion |
| RAM and CPU value | 15% | Memory, vCPU count, and whether CPU allocation is shared or dedicated |
| Storage | 10% | Capacity, NVMe/SSD/HDD type, and substantiated redundancy claims |
| Bandwidth and overages | 10% | Included transfer, port speed, metering, and extra-transfer charges |
| Managed support | 10% | Scope, hours, escalation route, and exclusions |
| Backups and recovery | 7.5% | Frequency, retention, restore process, and fees |
| Location and network | 5% | Available data centers, latency to users, and network commitments |
| Refund and cancellation terms | 5% | VPS eligibility, exclusions, and cancellation consequences |
| Reputation and operational transparency | 2.5% | Clear status reporting and support expectations |
Match the resource profile to the workload
- WordPress or a small business site: Prioritize adequate RAM, reliable backups, support scope, and a nearby data center over a headline discount.
- WooCommerce or a high-traffic site: Pay close attention to CPU consistency, memory headroom, recovery, bandwidth cost, and scaling options.
- Agency hosting: Evaluate migration assistance, multiple-site workflows, support response, backups, and account management.
- Docker, self-hosted apps, or development: Check root access, API, OS images, networking, and billing flexibility.
- Game server, downloads, media, or backups: Calculate transfer needs and overage exposure; port speed alone does not tell you how much traffic is included.
- Windows or latency-sensitive workloads: Confirm operating-system availability, licensing charges, and data-center location for the actual plan.
- Uncertain or temporary project: Flexible monthly billing may be worth more than a lower rate that locks you into a long prepayment.
Check bandwidth and recovery details
“Unlimited” or “unmetered” transfer may still be subject to acceptable-use rules or speed limits. Cloud VPS plans may charge for outbound traffic above an allowance. DreamHost’s VPS page discusses competitor overage pricing and lists metered outbound-transfer comparisons for DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Linode/Akamai as of June 2026; use its page as context, not as a substitute for checking a provider’s own current policy. Confirm included transfer, whether it is regional or global, overage price, port speed, and whether backup traffic counts.
Backups are useful only if their terms fit recovery needs. Check retention, restore points, off-server storage, database coverage, self-service restoration, and restore fees. Also verify whether IPv4 is included or charged separately; IPv6-only hosting may not work for every application or audience.

Do not infer performance from hardware labels
Terms such as “EPYC,” “NVMe,” and “1 Gbps” describe claimed infrastructure features, not guaranteed CPU availability, disk I/O, or real-world latency. A VPS label also does not prove that CPU resources are dedicated. Avoid treating hardware terminology as a performance ranking without independent measurements under comparable conditions.
How to verify a deal before paying
- Open the provider’s official deal page, not just a coupon or roundup page.
- Confirm that the terms explicitly say Black Friday 2026; a 2026 page title may still contain 2025 dates.
- Record the campaign start and end dates.
- Select the exact plan and check whether the offer applies to it.
- Check the required payment term and the amount charged upfront.
- Review the checkout total, including setup, control panel, backup, support, IP, and applicable tax charges.
- Record the renewal rate and the period it covers.
- Read the refund and cancellation rules for VPS specifically.
- Save the offer terms as a screenshot or PDF and set a calendar reminder before renewal.
- Do not buy solely from a coupon page if the official checkout does not show the promised discount.
Buy now or wait for Black Friday?
Buy before November 27 only if the project is ready, the official price applies to the exact plan, and the total commitment makes sense even after adding renewal costs and required extras. Waiting is more sensible when the displayed discount is short-lived, the offer requires years of prepayment, or the server’s support and resource fit remain unclear. For a project with uncertain duration, a flexible monthly alternative can be more valuable than a larger percentage discount tied to a long commitment.
Before switching hosts, also confirm which control panels and data the provider will migrate, whether email is included, how DNS cutover works, expected downtime, whether migrations from another VPS are supported, and whether any free migration applies only to selected plans. Check whether IP addresses can be retained and what happens to snapshots and backups after cancellation or downgrade.
How this list is assessed
Promotional terms in this guide are linked to official provider pages. Historical campaigns are labeled as such rather than treated as current offers, and no hands-on performance results are claimed. All prices shown in historical examples are in USD as presented by the cited pages; actual checkout totals can vary by billing term, location, tax, currency, and customer eligibility. A 2026 offer should be added or promoted only after its official terms and checkout price can be verified.
