Black Friday 2025 fell on Friday, November 28, but the sales season began weeks earlier and ran through Cyber Monday. Amazon announced a November 20–December 1 event, while Target advertised an Early Black Friday Sale for November 6–8. Those are historical dates and offers; they are not evidence of deals or prices available now.
When was Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday 2025 was November 28, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. Cyber Monday followed on December 1. The dates mark the familiar Thanksgiving-weekend shopping period, but retailer promotions were not limited to those days.
When did Black Friday sales start in 2025?
Some retailers advertised holiday promotions in early November. Target announced a three-day Early Black Friday Sale for November 6–8, 2025. Amazon announced that its US Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday events would run November 20 through December 1. These schedules describe those retailers’ 2025 promotions only; they should not be treated as a general schedule for other stores or future years.
Which stores advertised Black Friday deals?
Amazon
Amazon’s US announcement named artificial Christmas trees, seasonal decor, Amazon devices and select electronics among the categories in its November 20–December 1 event. The retailer advertised savings of up to 50% on named categories and customer-favorite brands. That was an advertised maximum, not proof that every item received that discount or that an advertised price was the lowest available. The announcement does not establish current prices or availability for any specific product. Amazon’s event announcement.

Target
Target said most deals in its November 6–8 Early Black Friday Sale would be 40% off or higher. It also announced a Holiday Price Match Guarantee covering November 1 through December 24, 2025. These were Target’s stated terms for the 2025 holiday season, not guarantees that a particular item was the best-priced or remains available. Target’s holiday savings announcement.
What were the best Black Friday 2025 deals?
The available retailer announcements identify broad categories and advertised savings, but do not provide enough item-level evidence to rank the best deals. In particular, naming artificial Christmas trees as a sale category does not verify a specific tree model, its discount, or its present availability. A headline percentage alone cannot show whether an offer was genuinely strong.

To judge a Black Friday offer, compare the same model and configuration across retailers, then assess the total checkout cost, including shipping and taxes where available. Check the advertised price against credible recent price history, confirm stock and delivery timing, and read the return and price-match terms. A large percentage reduction is a retailer’s claim; it is not, by itself, evidence of the lowest or best price.
Was Black Friday just one day in 2025?
No. Retailers spread promotions across November and into Cyber Monday. Target’s announced sale began November 6, Amazon’s announced event began November 20, and Amazon’s event was scheduled to end December 1. That illustrates how the shopping window extended beyond Black Friday without implying that every retailer followed the same dates.

How many people shopped during Black Friday weekend?
Before the holiday, the National Retail Federation’s October 2025 survey found that 63% of consumers planned to do most of their holiday shopping during Thanksgiving weekend, compared with 59% in 2024. This was a measure of stated plans, not a count of shoppers. NRF’s October 2025 survey release.
After the event, NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics reported that 202.9 million consumers shopped from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday in 2025. For Black Friday itself, their report counted 80.3 million in-store shoppers and 85.7 million online shoppers. These are post-event shopper estimates, distinct from the earlier survey’s measure of intended behavior. NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics’ post-event report.
