Bitwise said its NEAR Protocol ETF, ticker NRR, would begin trading on NYSE Arca on September 29, 2026. Separately, TechBullion reported on October 2 that Remittix plans to debut its RTX token on November 24. The ETF date and terms are confirmed by Bitwise; the Remittix date and product claims below are attributed to TechBullion and were not independently verified.
When did the NEAR Protocol ETF debut?
Bitwise Asset Management announced that the Bitwise NEAR ETF (NYSE: NRR) would start trading on NYSE Arca on September 29, 2026. The fund is designed to provide spot exposure to NEAR. Its launch announcement describes the fund’s terms and staking plan.
Fee and staking
The disclosed management fee is 0.75%. Bitwise intends to stake the NEAR held by the trust. Any staking rewards accrue to the trust and are reflected in its net asset value (NAV) per share; they are not described as a guaranteed cash payment to shareholders.
Bitwise cited an approximate 5% average staking reward rate, based on an annualized rate as of September 25, 2026, using official NEAR onchain metrics. The sponsor says rewards are not guaranteed and can change. This estimate is not a promised return or a measure of NRR’s investment performance.

What NRR does—and what it does not promise
The prospectus states that the trust’s primary objective is to provide exposure to the value of the NEAR it holds, less expenses, with a secondary objective of deriving additional NEAR through staking. It does not guarantee a positive return. NRR shares trade on an exchange at market prices, which may differ from the trust’s NAV per share.
The fund remains exposed to NEAR’s price movements as well as liquidity, regulatory and blockchain-technology risks. Staking can also involve lost rewards, slashing penalties and operational uncertainty. Investors therefore face risks tied both to the underlying token and to the fund structure.

When will Remittix launch RTX?
TechBullion reported on October 2, 2026, that Remittix plans to debut RTX on November 24. That is a reported future date, not confirmation that the launch has happened or that Remittix itself has officially confirmed the schedule.
Products and testing mentioned before launch
The same TechBullion article says Remittix’s iOS wallet and Markets platform are available and that PayFi testing is opening to invited existing holders. Those availability and testing claims were not independently corroborated by an official Remittix source here, so readers should treat them as claims reported by TechBullion rather than verified product status.

How NRR differs from owning NEAR directly
NRR is an exchange-traded fund share designed to provide spot exposure to NEAR; it is not the same thing as holding NEAR tokens in a personal wallet. The practical differences center on custody, fees and how staking is handled.
| Consideration | NRR ETF shares | Direct NEAR ownership |
|---|---|---|
| What you hold | Shares in a trust designed to provide exposure to NEAR’s value, less expenses. | NEAR tokens themselves. |
| Custody and operations | The trust holds the NEAR and Bitwise says it intends to stake it in-house. | The holder is responsible for choosing and managing token custody and any staking arrangements. |
| Fee | Bitwise disclosed a 0.75% management fee. | No comparable fee is established here; costs depend on the holder’s chosen services and transactions. |
| Staking treatment | Rewards accrue to the trust through NAV; rewards are not guaranteed. | Any staking depends on the holder’s own choices and arrangements. |
| Trading price | Shares trade at market price, which may differ from NAV. | The token is held directly rather than through ETF shares; no comparable NAV applies. |
| Risks | NEAR price and market risks, plus fund, regulatory, blockchain and staking risks. | Exposure to token-price and blockchain-related risks, with custody and operational responsibility resting with the holder. |
This comparison is structural, not a recommendation. Whether an ETF or direct token ownership is more suitable depends on the investor’s circumstances, tolerance for risk and need to control the underlying tokens.
