BillDesk and CCAvenue both offer Indian merchants online payment services, but their public materials emphasize different strengths. BillDesk highlights its payment-method breadth, integrations, dashboards and stated payment-aggregator authorizations; CCAvenue highlights domestic payment options, multi-currency processing, checkout and routing features, and a published standard platform fee. Neither set of claims establishes which provider will work better for your business. Compare the methods your customers use, your integration and settlement requirements, and written merchant-specific terms.

BillDesk vs CCAvenue at a glance

This comparison focuses on provider information aimed primarily at India and Indian merchants. Both providers describe online payment methods, integration options, reporting and merchant support. CCAvenue also describes processing in foreign currencies, while BillDesk describes cross-border payment aggregation. Feature descriptions and figures below are the providers’ own statements, not independent tests of performance.

#1 Best Overall
Square Terminal - Credit Card Machine to Accept All Payments | Mobile POS
  • With Square Terminal, you can ring up sales, accept payments, and print receipts, all with one device. Use it at the counter or ring up customers anywhere in your store.

Counts alone do not establish which methods will be enabled for your account or work for your buyers. Give each provider the same expected mix of domestic and international transactions, payment methods, recurring charges and average order values. Ask for written confirmation of availability, eligibility and any method-specific charges.

How do the integrations fit your website or app?

BillDesk integration options

BillDesk describes a full-redirect option called BillDesk Neo and a deep-API option called CX+, as well as web and mobile SDKs and plugins for selected ecommerce systems. Its developer documentation says merchants need credentials and UAT access through a relationship manager. Confirm the exact platform, version, plugin support and testing process with BillDesk. [BillDesk developer documentation]

CCAvenue integration options

CCAvenue describes hosted or iFrame checkout and mobile SDKs, along with branded checkout and saved-card and address features. Ask what can be customized, what data passes through your systems, and what changes are required for your particular web or app stack. [CCAvenue]

What operational controls and reporting are described?

BillDesk describes a unified dashboard with real-time transaction views, customizable alerts, automated refunds and dispute support. Its payment-aggregator page also describes transaction insights, settlement reports and bulk refunds. These are stated capabilities, not findings from a usability or reconciliation test. [BillDesk Online Payments] [BillDesk payment aggregator]

CCAvenue describes a dashboard with payment, settlement and refund reporting, plus smart dynamic routing, retries and fraud and risk tools. The provider does not establish in these materials how those features will affect a particular merchant’s payment success or workload. [CCAvenue]

Rank #3
Dejavoo Z8 EMV CTLS Credit Card Terminal (IP, WiFi, no Dial)
  • Includes Elavon encryption
  • Chip Card / EMV / NFC Compatible
  • 2.4’’ Color LCD with backlight
  • 192 MB of Memory (128 MB RAM / 64 MB DDR RAM)
  • Includes terminal and power supply

For a finance team, ask each provider to demonstrate the reports and exports you will use to reconcile orders, fees, refunds and payouts. Confirm which users can access them, whether reports can be filtered or downloaded in the format your accounting process requires, and how disputes and failed or retried payments appear.

How should you compare fees and total cost?

CCAvenue’s public pricing page lists a 2.00% standard online platform fee plus 18% GST. The page says commercial terms may differ by merchant category and describes custom pricing for larger or higher-revenue enterprises; some value-added services may have separate charges. Treat the headline rate as a published standard figure, not a universal or all-inclusive offer. Confirm current terms and the rate for your account. [CCAvenue pricing]

BillDesk’s cited online payments page describes flexible pricing and directs prospective merchants to sales; it does not publish a directly comparable standard rate. Its public description of an enterprise plan mentions custom integration and dedicated account roles for high-volume businesses, but does not establish pricing or eligibility for an individual merchant. Rank #4
Clover Compact Payment Terminal - Requires New Merchant Processing Account Through Powering POS.
  • The Clover Compact and Clover Mini /Station sync with each other through the Clover Dashboard and cloud-based network. Request written proposals from both providers using the same expected transaction volume, average ticket, payment-method mix, international share, refund and chargeback profile, and required services. Ask each to itemize:

  • Fees by payment method, plus applicable taxes.
  • International processing and currency-conversion charges.
  • Refund, chargeback, payout or settlement fees.
  • Recurring-payment, tokenization, routing or other value-added charges.
  • Setup, integration, minimum-volume or other contractual charges.

CCAvenue’s merchant agreement defines settlement amounts after fees and other listed deductions and describes transaction discount rates as incorporating merchant discount rates and service charges. Review the agreement and fee schedule that would actually govern your account, rather than relying on a headline percentage. [CCAvenue merchant agreement]

What settlement schedule will your cash flow require?

CCAvenue advertises Express Settlements as a way to receive payments on the same working day. The cited announcement does not spell out whether this is available by default, which merchants qualify, applicable fees, cut-off times or other conditions. Ask CCAvenue to confirm those details and how express payouts differ from the ordinary schedule. [CCAvenue Express Settlements announcement]

The reviewed BillDesk public product page does not state a settlement timetable. Ask BillDesk for the ordinary payout schedule and any faster options in writing. For either provider, clarify cut-off times, weekends and holidays, reserves or holds, deductions and the timing of refunds and disputes.

What do the providers say about security, regulation and support?

BillDesk states that its online payment service is PCI DSS 4.0 Level 1 certified and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 compliant, and says its systems are hosted in India at Tier III data centers. It also states that IndiaIdeas.com Limited is authorized by the Reserve Bank of India as an Online Payment Aggregator (CoA No. 190/2024) and as a Payment Aggregator-Cross Border for imports and exports. These are BillDesk’s statements; confirm current status, scope and the contracting entity during procurement. [BillDesk Online Payments] [BillDesk payment aggregator and licensing information]

CCAvenue describes itself as PCI-DSS compliant and refers to fraud and risk tools. The cited materials do not provide a like-for-like regulatory comparison with BillDesk, so do not infer equivalent authorizations or scope. Ask CCAvenue for current evidence and clarify each party’s contractual security responsibilities. [CCAvenue]

Both providers describe 24/7 support. BillDesk also describes dedicated merchant and enterprise support; CCAvenue says support is available across channels. These statements do not establish response times or incident outcomes. In the contract or service documentation, identify the onboarding contact, technical escalation path, settlement support process and response commitments. [BillDesk] [BillDesk] [CCAvenue]

How to decide between BillDesk and CCAvenue

Use the requirements that matter to your business, rather than a general ranking:

  • Choose the comparison around buyer payment habits: list the methods and currencies your customers actually need, then confirm account eligibility and charges.
  • Match the integration to your stack: verify the exact platform or app, checkout flow, customization, recurring needs and test access.
  • Test your operational workflow: review a sample transaction, refund, dispute and settlement report with the finance and support teams who will use it.
  • Compare signed commercial terms: evaluate the full fee schedule, payout timing and deductions against the same assumptions.
  • Validate service ownership: get named escalation routes and written support commitments for onboarding and live incidents.

Public provider pages do not supply a dated, independently comparable dataset for authorization rates, uptime or support performance. Validate those factors against your own transaction profile and obtain written commitments where they matter; no public feature list establishes that either gateway will perform better for a particular merchant.
