Although the original notice set April 22, 2025, as the hard-copy deadline, BHU later extended online applications and fee payment to April 30 and hard-copy submission to May 5. The sources available do not establish the recruitment’s later test, result or appointment status.
What BHU advertised
The March 18, 2025, notice invited Indian citizens to apply for 199 Junior Clerk posts in the administrative sector. The post was listed as Group C, post code 50003, at pay level 2, with a published pay matrix of ₹19,900–₹63,200. That is the pay matrix, not a statement of take-home salary.

- At least six months of certified training in computer use for office automation, bookkeeping and word processing; or
- A computer diploma recognized by AICTE.
Age limits and relaxations
The general age limit stated for Group C posts was 18–30 years. The notice listed limits of 18–35 for SC/ST candidates and 18–33 for OBC candidates. It also set out provisions for widows, divorced women, women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried, ex-servicemen, and permanent or contract/daily-wage BHU employees. The notice tied eligibility to the application deadline specified in the original advertisement; candidates needed to rely on its exact terms rather than assume a concession applied to them.

The original notice set separate cutoffs for online application and fee payment, and for the printed application with enclosures. BHU’s April 22 extension notice superseded those dates.

Application fee and submission method
The fee was ₹500 for UR, EWS and OBC candidates. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates were exempt. Payment was to be made online through the application portal. Applicants were also required to submit a printed application and enclosures to the Registrar (Recruitment & Assessment Cell), Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi. These were requirements for the now-closed application process.

- Written test: BHU stated that selection would begin with a written test.
- Computer Proficiency Test and skill test: Candidates shortlisted on written-test performance could be called for these subsequent assessments. The stated skills included routine use of PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Qualifying typing test: The notice separately specified a computer typing test requiring 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi. This was a qualifying threshold, distinct from the written test and the computer proficiency/skill stages.
- Original-document verification: The notice also specified verification of original documents.
BHU described the typing test as qualifying in Advertisement No. 07/2024-2025; the speed figures are minimum thresholds, not average results or a guarantee of selection.
