Titan hosts the email separately from the Squarespace website; Squarespace manages the subscription billing and presents the setup as requiring no technical configuration for the integrated purchase flow.
What the Squarespace–Titan partnership provides
Squarespace documents Titan as one of two integrations for customers who want an email address at their own domain. The other is Google Workspace. An address such as [email protected] can therefore be added to a Squarespace-associated domain without treating website hosting and email hosting as the same service.

The integrated product is named Essential Email by Titan. Squarespace’s help documentation makes the hosting boundary explicit: “Your email is always hosted externally, even though your site is hosted by Squarespace.” In practical terms, Squarespace can host the site and manage the purchase while Titan operates the mail service.
What is included in Essential Email by Titan
Squarespace’s product page, accessed October 13, 2026, lists the following package at $3 per user per month:

Email hosting is separate from website or domain hosting
Buying a domain or publishing a Squarespace site does not, by itself, create a professional mailbox. A domain is the address system; website hosting serves web pages; email hosting stores and delivers messages. Squarespace says an existing custom-email provider can remain in use, so moving a site or domain to Squarespace does not automatically require moving mail.

That separation also affects administration. The site and domain may appear in one Squarespace account, while mailboxes, calendars, contacts and mail delivery are provided by Titan. The partnership is therefore an integration and billing arrangement rather than a claim that Squarespace itself runs Titan’s mail servers.
How setup and migration work
- Choose the email integration. In the Squarespace account, select Essential Email by Titan when adding a custom email address to an eligible domain.
- Create users and addresses. Select the domain and assign each mailbox to a user. The charge is per user, so aliases and additional addresses should be distinguished from separately billed inboxes in the account’s current terms.
- Use the supplied access methods. Sign in through a browser or Titan’s native iOS and Android applications.
- Migrate existing mail if needed. Squarespace’s product page says an existing account can be imported through IMAP. Preserve the old provider until the import and delivery checks are complete.
- Confirm delivery. Send and receive test messages, verify calendar and contact access, and check that every user can sign in before retiring the previous service.
Squarespace markets the integrated route with the statement “No technical setup required.” That describes the purchase and setup flow it controls; domain configurations can still vary, especially when a domain uses third-party DNS, an existing mail provider or custom records.

When DNS records may be involved
Titan’s technical guide for Squarespace domains lists Titan’s mail-exchange hosts as mx1.titan.email and mx2.titan.email, along with an SPF TXT record. These records tell the domain where incoming mail should go and which servers are authorized to send.
Do not add Titan records blindly to a domain that already uses another mail provider. Conflicting MX records can split or stop delivery, and replacing an existing SPF record instead of combining authorized senders can cause legitimate messages to fail authentication. The exact records and entry method should be taken from Titan’s current instructions for the domain’s DNS host. The integrated Squarespace signup may apply required settings automatically, so manual editing is not necessarily part of every customer’s path.

Essential Email by Titan versus Google Workspace
Squarespace positions Titan for core professional email functions and Google Workspace for customers who need a broader collaboration suite. Its page lists Google Workspace as starting at $7 per user per month, also a displayed price that can change by plan, region and billing conditions.

The choice is mainly about scope. A small team seeking mail, a calendar and contacts may prefer Titan’s narrower package. Organizations that need shared file storage, conferencing or real-time document work should examine the Google Workspace plan that supplies those tools and price the full user count.

What customers should verify before subscribing
- Whether the desired domain is eligible for the selected Squarespace integration.
- The current per-user price, taxes, renewal terms and any plan limits shown at checkout.
- Whether each person needs a full mailbox or only an alias or forwarding address.
- Where DNS is managed and whether existing MX, SPF or other mail-authentication records must be changed.
- How much historical mail, contacts and calendar data must be moved through IMAP or another supported method.
- That the Titan mobile apps and browser login meet the team’s access and security requirements.
Why the partnership matters
For Squarespace customers, the arrangement removes a common procurement gap: a website subscription can now lead directly to a paid custom-email option without treating email as an undocumented add-on. Titan, led by Bhavin Turakhia, gains distribution through a major website and domain platform, while customers receive a clearly defined alternative to Google Workspace. The service remains an externally hosted email product, so buyers should evaluate mailbox features, administration, migration and domain-record responsibilities separately from their website choice.
