It did not buy Zulily’s debts or liabilities. A site relaunch was then forecast for 2024, but that was a historical plan—not confirmation that the retailer is operating today. Beyond later agreed to sell a 75% stake in the Zulily brand to Lyons Trading Company for $5 million, retaining 25%.
What Beyond bought for $4.5 million
On March 7, 2024, Beyond announced it had acquired selected Zulily intellectual property and brand assets under an agreement dated March 6. The stated purchase price was $4.5 million, plus acquisition-related costs, paid with cash on hand. The assets included Zulily’s website and domain names, trademarks and trade names, customer database, social media accounts, website-operating software, and associated goodwill. The transaction excluded Zulily’s liabilities, liens, and debts. Beyond’s March 7, 2024 announcement describes the terms.

Beyond’s 2024 annual report subsequently described the aggregate purchase price as $4.6 million, inclusive of direct acquisition-related expenses. That accounting total includes costs beyond the $4.5 million announced asset-purchase price; the figures refer to different scopes, not necessarily conflicting accounts.
Why Zulily’s brand was available
Zulily had announced its liquidation in December 2023 after attempts to salvage the business failed. The Associated Press reported that the wind-down was being handled through an assignment for the benefit of creditors. Beyond’s later purchase was therefore an acquisition of specified brand assets, not a purchase of the former retailer’s entire business or its obligations. What Beyond said about relaunching Zulily
Beyond’s March 2024 announcement projected a fully functional site by the end of the second quarter of 2024. In its May 6, 2024 first-quarter results, the company said it planned to relaunch the site later that year. Both statements described expectations at the time. Beyond’s May 6, 2024 results record the later-in-2024 plan.
The company’s stated rationale was to build its off-price business and improve its margin profile and customer file. Executive Chairman Marcus Lemonis said the acquisition “doubles down on our belief in the off-price market.” That was Beyond’s strategic rationale, not a guarantee that the relaunch would succeed.

How the ownership changed afterward
Beyond’s 2025 annual filing says the company entered into an agreement to sell 75% of the Zulily brand to Lyons Trading Company, which operates Proozy.com, for $5.0 million. Beyond retained a 25% stake in a newly created entity. This later transaction changed the ownership picture from the one described when Beyond bought the assets in 2024. It covered a majority stake in the brand, rather than repeating the original asset purchase on the same terms. Beyond’s SEC filings include the 2025 annual filing.

Does the 2024 plan confirm Zulily is operating now?
No. A stated intention to relaunch in 2024 does not establish the site’s current operating status, and the later ownership agreement does not by itself confirm whether the retail website is available. The public filings cited here establish the historical acquisition, relaunch plan, and ownership change; they do not verify current inventory, shipping, customer service, or site operations.
