Bex Options Review: Scam or Legit Broker?

The FCA warned that Bex Options was unauthorised and targeting UK consumers in 2018. Its current brokerage operation could not be verified, so consumers should avoid depositing funds or sharing personal information.

Verdict: Bex Options should not be treated as a legitimate broker. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) lists Bex Options as an unauthorised firm targeting UK consumers. The FCA warning says the firm was not authorised to provide financial services and that customers would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The warning was published and last updated on December 18, 2018. That date matters: the FCA warning is serious, but it should not be described as a new 2026 enforcement action, criminal conviction, or court finding. Recent broker-monitoring sources also report that the Bex Options website is unavailable, and a current, functioning brokerage service could not be verified.

Is Bex Options a scam or a legitimate broker?

Based on the available regulatory and company information, Bex Options is an unauthorised, FCA-warned broker that consumers should avoid. There is no verified evidence that it currently operates a functioning brokerage service.

The FCA’s warning identifies Bex Options as a firm that may have been carrying on financial activities without authorisation. The regulator says consumers dealing with the firm would not receive the normal protections available when using an FCA-authorised business.

This is the most accurate conclusion:

  • Bex Options was listed by the FCA as an unauthorised firm targeting UK consumers.
  • Its claimed financial-services authorisation could not be verified.
  • Its website is currently reported as unavailable.
  • Historical reviews described unusually high promised returns, substantial deposits and unclear withdrawal conditions.
  • There is no basis for depositing money or sending personal documents to a website claiming to represent Bex Options.

It is also important not to overstate the evidence. The FCA warning is not itself a criminal conviction or a court judgment declaring Bex Options fraudulent.

What the FCA warning says

The FCA warning identifies the following details:

Detail Information in the FCA warning
Name Bex Options
Address used 49 Station Road, Polegate, East Sussex, BN26 6EA, United Kingdom
Telephone 01792 720789
Email [email protected]
Website bexoptions.com
Warning date First published and last updated December 18, 2018

The FCA says Bex Options was not authorised by the regulator and appeared to be providing financial services that required authorisation. It also advises consumers to check the Financial Services Register rather than relying on a company name, registration number, website claims or an address.

A firm’s absence from a warning list does not prove that it is safe. Authorisation must be checked directly on the regulator’s register, using contact details taken from the register rather than details supplied by the firm.

Why Companies House information does not make Bex Options legitimate

Several broker-review sources reported that Bex Options presented itself as connected to BEX TRADING LIMITED, company number 09563470. That number does exist at Companies House, but the registry information does not establish that Bex Options was authorised to offer investments, foreign exchange, CFDs or options.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Companies House currently records company number 09563470 as:

  • Company: BEX TRADING LIMITED
  • Status: Active
  • Incorporated: April 27, 2015
  • Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ
  • SIC classification: 70229 — management consultancy activities other than financial management

The company’s latest accounts, made up to April 30, 2025, describe it as dormant. You can check the Companies House overview and its filing history.

That information does not prove that BEX TRADING LIMITED committed wrongdoing, nor does it prove that the company operated Bex Options. It does show why a company number should not be treated as evidence of financial-services authorisation. A business can be registered with Companies House without being permitted to hold client money or provide regulated investment services.

What products did Bex Options reportedly advertise?

Historical broker reviews described Bex Options as offering or claiming to offer:

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Forex
  • Cryptocurrencies
  • Contracts for difference (CFDs)
  • Binary options
  • Stocks
  • Mining-related products
  • MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5

These are historical claims, not verified current products. The Bex Options website could not be accessed during this research, so current account types, spreads, leverage, execution policies, platform access and withdrawal procedures cannot be confirmed.

One contemporaneous test reported that registration led to a dashboard apparently focused on depositing funds rather than placing independently verifiable trades. Platform logos and a displayed account balance are not proof that trades are being executed in real markets or that customer funds are held safely.

Historical deposit and return claims

A December 2018 third-party review reported the following conditions:

Reported term Historical detail
Minimum deposit $1,000
Investment plans Bronze, Silver, Gold and Premium
Claimed returns 5% to 11% per week
Reported withdrawal charge 20%
Deposit method seen by tester Cryptocurrency appeared to be the only available method

These were reported 2018 conditions and are not confirmed current terms. They should not be presented as a live Bex Options fee schedule.

Nevertheless, the combination of a $1,000 minimum deposit, fixed or unusually high weekly return claims, unclear trading conditions and a reported withdrawal charge is a major warning sign. A transparent regulated broker normally publishes clear risk disclosures, legal terms, execution information, complaints procedures and regulator details. Fixed weekly returns are especially inconsistent with the way legitimate high-risk investments are normally presented: market losses are possible, and returns cannot be guaranteed.

Is the Bex Options website still operating?

Recent broker-monitoring pages report that the Bex Options website is unavailable or inactive. No current trading interface or live account workflow could be verified.

A dead domain does not automatically prove that a company was fraudulent. It does mean that claims about current products, withdrawal rules or platform functionality cannot be checked. It also creates a further risk: unauthorised operators sometimes change domains, telephone numbers, email addresses or names after a warning.

If a new website claims to be “Bex Options,” “Bex Options Trade and Investment” or an affiliated business, do not assume it is an official successor. Check the new entity independently against the relevant regulator’s register and use only the regulator’s published contact information.

Claims about Bex Options that should be treated cautiously

“Bex Options was FCA regulated because it had a company number.”

Incorrect. The FCA warning says Bex Options was not authorised. Companies House registration is separate from FCA authorisation.

“The FCA recently shut down Bex Options.”

Not supported by the available warning. The FCA page remains available, but it was first published and last updated on December 18, 2018. The page does not state that the FCA obtained a court judgment, ordered a winding-up or formally closed the company.

“The FCA warning proves criminal fraud.”

Overstated. The warning says the FCA believed the firm might have been providing financial services without authorisation. That is a serious regulatory warning, but it is not the same as a criminal conviction or civil court finding.

“MetaTrader access proves that the broker is real.”

Incorrect. MT4 or MT5 branding does not establish authorisation, genuine market execution, safe custody of funds or the ability to process withdrawals.

What U.S. readers should know

U.S. readers should apply the same basic principle: check registration directly before sending money to a derivatives or binary-options platform.

The CFTC says binary options may be traded legally on registered U.S. exchanges, but many internet-based binary-options platforms are unregistered. Complaints involving these platforms have included refusal to credit accounts, refusal to reimburse funds, identity theft and software manipulation designed to produce losing trades.

Before dealing with a derivatives professional or company, check the National Futures Association’s BASIC database. The CFTC’s Binary Options Fraud guidance provides further information. A platform’s absence from a warning list is not proof of legitimacy; registration and authorisation must be confirmed directly.

Warning signs to watch for

The following behaviours are common risk indicators for unregistered online investment platforms. They should not be described as proven Bex Options incidents unless supported by a specific customer record:

  • A request for more money before a withdrawal is released.
  • Demands for “tax,” “insurance,” “verification” or “account upgrade” payments.
  • Cryptocurrency or wire-transfer deposits that are difficult to reverse.
  • Unsolicited calls promising fixed or unusually high returns.
  • An online balance without independently verifiable trades or evidence of fund custody.
  • Requests for identity documents or payment-card images before basic authorisation can be verified.
  • A website that disappears and later returns under a different domain or brand.

Do not pay an additional fee simply because someone says it is necessary to recover an existing balance. A request for more money is often a second-stage loss rather than a genuine withdrawal process.

What to do if you paid Bex Options

  1. Stop sending money. Do not pay alleged taxes, release fees, insurance charges or verification deposits.
  2. Contact your payment provider immediately. Call your bank, card issuer, wire provider or cryptocurrency exchange using a contact number obtained independently. Ask what recall, chargeback or fraud-reporting options remain available.
  3. Preserve evidence. Save emails, chat logs, phone numbers, wallet addresses, transaction IDs, screenshots, invoices, account statements and copies of submitted documents.
  4. Protect your accounts. Change passwords if you shared login details, enable multi-factor authentication and monitor bank and card activity. Contact your bank immediately if identity documents or payment information were disclosed.
  5. Report the matter. U.S. consumers can report suspected derivatives or binary-options fraud to the CFTC and, where relevant, the SEC, FTC, state securities regulator and local law enforcement.
  6. UK consumers should report it. Report suspected fraud to the FCA and Report Fraud. The FCA says it cannot recover money for victims, but reports help it investigate and warn others.
  7. Ignore recovery offers requiring upfront payment. The FTC warns that refund and recovery scammers target people who have already lost money. No genuine recovery service can guarantee that funds will be returned.

Final assessment

Bex Options does not meet the standard for a legitimate regulated broker. The decisive concerns are the FCA’s warning that it was unauthorised, the inability to verify current authorisation or a functioning website, reports that its claimed company details were connected to a separate company, and historical descriptions of opaque deposit and withdrawal arrangements.

The precise conclusion is that Bex Options was an FCA-warned, unauthorised firm targeting UK consumers on December 18, 2018, and should be avoided. Calling it an “FCA-confirmed criminal scam” would go beyond the official evidence. Depositing funds or providing personal information to a current website claiming to represent Bex Options is not justified by the information available.

The warning was first published and last updated on December 18, 2018. It should not be described as a new 2026 warning.

Is Bex Options currently operating?

A functioning current service could not be verified. Recent broker-monitoring sources report that the website is unavailable or inactive.

Should I pay a fee to withdraw or recover my money?

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Bex Options was listed by the FCA as an unauthorised firm targeting UK consumers, and its current brokerage operation could not be verified. It should not be treated as a legitimate regulated broker. Do not deposit funds or provide personal information to a website claiming to represent it.
