BETA Technologies began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BETA on November 4, 2025. Its shares closed that first day at $36, above the $34 IPO price, according to TechCrunch’s contemporaneous report. The offering itself closed a day later, on November 5: the company sold 34,330,882 shares and reported $1.167 billion in gross proceeds. After underwriting discounts and commissions, its 2025 annual report recorded $1.103 billion in net proceeds.
What happened on BETA Technologies’ first day on the NYSE?
BETA’s Class A shares started trading on the NYSE on November 4, 2025, under the ticker BETA. The company’s November 3 pricing announcement said trading was expected to begin the next day, and its prospectus identified the NYSE listing and ticker. TechCrunch reported that the stock closed its first trading day at $36 after dipping and recovering during the session.
At $36, the reported close was $2 above the $34 offering price, or approximately 5.9% higher. The $36 closing price is reported by TechCrunch; the SEC filing confirms the $34 offer price and share terms, not the first-day market close.
When did the IPO close, and how many shares were sold?
The first day of trading and the closing of the IPO were separate events. BETA announced on November 3 that it had priced 29,852,941 Class A shares at $34 each. The underwriters then exercised their option in full to purchase 4,477,941 additional shares. BETA’s November 6 Form 8-K says the company completed the sale of all 34,330,882 shares on November 5.

How much did BETA actually raise?
The figures depend on whether “raised” means gross proceeds before underwriting costs or net proceeds after those costs. BETA’s November 6 Form 8-K reported gross proceeds of $1,167,249,988 from the completed IPO. Its 2025 Form 10-K recorded $63.922 million in underwriting discounts and commissions and $1,103.327 million in net proceeds.

| IPO measure | Amount | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Gross proceeds | $1,167,249,988 | Reported by BETA in its November 6, 2025 Form 8-K |
| Underwriting discounts and commissions | $63.922 million | Reported in BETA’s 2025 Form 10-K |
| Net proceeds | $1,103.327 million | Reported in BETA’s 2025 Form 10-K after those costs |
That distinction explains why the headline description of “$1B raised” is rounded: the filed gross amount was about $1.167 billion, while the company reported about $1.103 billion net. The figures are from BETA’s Form 8-K and 2025 Form 10-K.
What does BETA Technologies do?
BETA describes itself as an electric aerospace company developing electric aircraft, charging systems, and electric propulsion. Its IPO proceeds therefore came from a public share offering in an aerospace company, rather than from a consumer product sale.
