The advertised offers included hotel discounts, flight-and-hotel bundle savings, cruise credit, and a charitable donation tied to bookings—but they were limited-time promotions, not deals available now. No neutral comparison established one provider as the universal best; the most useful offer depended on the trip, eligible inventory, and restrictions.
When was Travel Tuesday 2024?
Travel Tuesday, also called Travel Deal Tuesday, was December 3, 2024—the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Hopper described it as the event’s eighth year. The offers below are historical examples: their booking windows, codes, inventory, and loyalty conditions have expired.

What were the advertised Travel Tuesday deals?
| Provider | Advertised offer | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Priceline | 15% off a Hotel Express Deal, capped at $50, with code TRAVELTUE15; up to 20% off rental cars; up to $2,000 in cruise cash; and 30% off a flight-and-hotel bundle. | These were offers in Priceline’s November 11, 2024 announcement for December 3. Cruise cash and Express Deal savings had material eligibility or comparison terms; see the details below. |
| Hopper | Up to 50% off at more than 10,000 hotel properties, with flight deals also promoted. | Discounts varied by destination and property; the 50% figure was a maximum, not a general discount. |
| Expedia | A $5 donation to its Made to Travel Fund for each December 3 booking of an accommodation, flight, car, cruise, activity, or package, capped at $1 million. | One Key members could receive additional hotel savings; Expedia said combined discounts reached 30% or more in some cases. |
Hotel discounts varied by destination
Hopper’s preview named these maximum advertised discounts: 50% in the Dominican Republic and Germany; 40% in the Cayman Islands and Philadelphia; 35% in Australia, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.; and 30% in San Diego, Bali, Chile, Nashville, and Paris. These destination figures describe the promotion Hopper announced, not a guaranteed rate for every hotel or date.
Flight deals: distinguish the December 3 offers from nearby sales
Priceline advertised 30% off a flight-and-hotel bundle for Travel Tuesday and up to 50% savings on Flight Express Deals. Its 10 Days of Deals also advertised WestJet flights as low as $99 on November 25. That WestJet fare was an adjacent holiday-sale offer, not necessarily a December 3 Travel Tuesday fare.

Priceline said its Express Deal savings were measured against Priceline’s lowest retail rate for the same itinerary. That comparison does not establish savings against every airline, booking site, or market fare. The actual itinerary price and applicable restrictions matter more than the headline percentage.
What Priceline’s cruise cash meant
Priceline advertised up to $2,000 in cruise cash, but the historical terms tied Double Cruise Cash to eligible new bookings made November 20–December 4, 2024. It applied to one passenger per booking and eligible Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Holland America, and Princess sailings departing by December 31, 2026. The credit was capped at 10% of cruise value and had redemption deadlines. The $2,000 headline was therefore not a universal cash discount: eligibility, value cap, and redemption rules determined its usefulness.

How to judge a travel-sale offer
- Compare the final itinerary price. Check the same dates, route or property, occupancy, and included components rather than relying on the discount percentage alone.
- Check eligible inventory. A promotion may apply only to selected hotels, destinations, flights, bundles, or sailings.
- Read the booking and travel windows. A deal may be bookable on one date but apply only to travel within a separate period.
- Account for caps and redemption rules. A capped hotel discount or cruise credit can be worth less than its headline suggests.
- Confirm channel and membership requirements. Check whether a code, app, account, or loyalty membership is required.
- Review cancellation and change conditions. A lower price may come with less flexibility, so compare the terms before booking.
What Hopper’s claims do—and do not—show
Hopper Lead Economist Hayley Berg called Travel Deal Tuesday “one of the best days of the year to find travel deals.” Hopper also said that on Travel Deal Tuesday 2023 it saw more deals than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined, and that users scored deals over 75% off. Those are Hopper’s statements about its own platform and users, not independent proof that every traveler—or every category—would find a better price on that date.

That is the company’s stated data-processing volume, not an independent measure of market-wide prices or deal quality.

Are these deals available now?
No. The promotions described here were time-limited 2024 offers, and their booking dates, codes, inventory, and eligibility have expired. They are useful as examples of how Travel Tuesday promotions were structured, but they should not be treated as current prices or as evidence that a successor sale is available.
