Best Sky deals in August 2026: cheapest TV, broadband, Sports and Glass offers

There is no single best Sky deal: the right package depends on whether you want the lowest TV price, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, fast broadband, a flexible contract or a television with Sky built in. For most new UK customers, the strongest headline offer is Ultimate TV with 900Mbps Full Fibre for £41 a month. The cheapest Sky TV is Essential TV from £15 a month, while the cheapest listed TV-and-Sports package is Essential TV plus Sky Sports for £35 a month.

These are Sky UK residential offers checked on 10 August 2026. Prices, eligibility, postcode availability and end dates can change. Most headline prices apply to new customers signing a 24-month minimum term, so compare the full contract cost and the price after the promotion rather than choosing solely on the monthly headline.

1. Cheapest Sky TV deal: Essential TV from £15 a month

Essential TV is the lowest-cost route into Sky TV for a new customer. Sky currently advertises it from £15 a month on a 24-month minimum term. A 31-day rolling version is advertised from £18 a month for new customers, while the listed standard rolling price is £21 a month. The precise price depends on customer status and the offer shown when you order.

The package includes:

• Sky Atlantic;

Essential TV suits someone who wants Sky Atlantic and general entertainment but does not need the larger Ultimate TV channel line-up. It is a streaming product, so Sky Stream or Sky Glass needs a broadband connection. Sky recommends at least 25Mbps for streaming.

The important limitation is that Netflix Standard with Ads is an ad-supported tier. It is not the same as ad-free Netflix. Also check the service activation route if you already pay Netflix or discovery+ separately, because taking the Sky-included version without cancelling the existing subscription can result in duplicate billing. 2. Is Ultimate TV worth paying more for?

Ultimate TV is the better choice for a household that will use several entertainment services and extra Sky channels. It is currently advertised from £24 a month for new customers on a 24-month minimum term. The listed 31-day rolling price for a new customer is £30 a month, while the standard rolling price is £38 a month.

Ultimate TV includes everything in Essential TV, plus more than 30 additional channels and services such as:

• Sky Max;
• U&Gold;
• Sky Witness;
• additional Sky entertainment, documentary and nature channels;
• Netflix Standard with Ads;
• Disney+ Standard with Ads;
• HBO Max Basic with Ads;
• discovery+; and
• access to, or a limited taste of, Hayu depending on the offer wording and activation route.

Disney+, HBO Max and other included services normally require separate account activation. Premium or ad-free upgrades cost extra. Sky’s current legal offer information confirms that Disney+ Standard with Ads is included in Ultimate TV and Sky Cinema, and that HBO Max Basic with Ads is included in Ultimate TV. The Sky TV offer page should be treated as the final word because inclusions can vary by offer.

As a simple contract comparison, Essential TV at £15 a month costs £360 over 24 months before any price changes. Ultimate TV at £24 a month costs £576 over the same period. The extra £216 is worthwhile only if you would otherwise pay for the additional channels and streaming services, or if you will regularly watch the Ultimate catalogue.

3. Best Sky TV and broadband bundles

Best headline all-round deal: Ultimate TV plus 900Mbps for £41 a month

Sky currently advertises Ultimate TV plus 900Mbps Full Fibre Gigafast for £41 a month, with an Advanced WiFi hub, no upfront fees and up to £300 switching credit. The offer is for new Sky TV-and-broadband customers, subject to separate 24-month minimum terms. Sky lists Full Fibre Gigafast as available to 79% of UK homes, but the address checker—not the national percentage—determines whether you can order it.

The promotional breakdown is:

• Ultimate TV: £24 a month;
• Full Fibre 900: £17 a month; and
• Sky Talk Pay As You Talk: £0 a month.

At £41 a month, the promotional cost over 24 months is £984, before price changes or optional add-ons. The current listed standard component prices after the 24-month offer are £38 a month for Ultimate TV and £52 a month for Full Fibre 900—£90 a month combined before any later price changes. This is why the £41 price should not be described as a permanent or typical monthly cost. Check the bundle page and legal terms before signing.

Cheapest listed TV-and-broadband bundle: Essential TV plus Full Fibre

Sky’s current TV-and-broadband page lists both of these combinations at £35 a month:

• Essential TV plus 900Mbps Full Fibre; and
• Essential TV plus 150Mbps Full Fibre.

The apparent price equality makes postcode checking particularly important. The 900Mbps service is not available everywhere, and promotional pages can change. For an ordinary household, the 150Mbps package is likely to be sufficient for browsing, video calls and several simultaneous HD streams. If the 900Mbps version is genuinely available at the same price and has the same contract terms, it is the more attractive headline deal—but do not assume that the offer will remain available after entering your address.

Sky’s legal breakdown for Essential TV plus Full Fibre 150 lists:

• Full Fibre 150 at £23 a month during the offer;
• Essential TV at £15 a month during the offer;
• Sky Pay As You Talk at £0 a month;
• average download speed of 150Mbps and upload speed of 27Mbps; and
• current listed standard prices after 24 months of £43 a month for broadband and £18 a month for Essential TV.

That makes the advertised £35 monthly cost £840 over the 24-month term. The listed post-offer component prices would total £61 a month before later changes. Treat that as a current listed rate, not a guaranteed future bill.

How Sky switching credit works

Some TV-and-broadband offers advertise up to £300 switching credit. Broadband-only offers advertise up to £200. This is not cash paid into your bank account: it is credit applied to the Sky account, and the maximum is not automatically paid to every customer.

For the broadband-only offer, Sky says you must generally:

1. switch your broadband, calls and line rental to Sky;
2. pay qualifying post-switch monthly charges from the old provider;
3. submit proof of payment within 90 days of Sky activation;
4. claim no more than the amount actually charged, subject to the offer cap; and
5. remain eligible until the credit is processed.

Cancellation before processing can invalidate the credit. Read the current switching-credit terms and retain the old provider’s final bill or other accepted proof.

4. Cheapest Sky Sports deal

Sky currently lists Essential TV plus Sky Sports at £35 a month and Ultimate TV plus Sky Sports at £44 a month. These are advertised bundle prices for eligible new customers and should not be confused with the price of adding Sports to an existing package.

Sky’s current terms list Sky Sports Complete at:

• £33 a month extra with a qualifying 24-month Streaming TV subscription;
• £35 a month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription or outside the minimum term; and
• Sky Sports+ included with Sky Sports Complete.

The difference between the advertised bundle price and adding the standalone extra reflects promotional bundle pricing. Always use the checkout total for your particular package rather than adding unrelated prices from different offer pages.

Choose the sports option by how often you watch

These NOW prices are alternative-service prices, not Sky prices. Broadband.co.uk’s comparison also lists a Sports and Entertainment Boost at £33.99 a month with a six-month minimum. Recheck the live NOW and sports comparison before ordering.

Existing Sky TV customers can take a single Sky Sports F1 subscription for £20 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription. TNT Sports is listed at £34 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription for eligible Sky Stream or Sky Glass customers. If you need both Sky Sports and TNT Sports, compare the combined cost with Virgin Media and with separate NOW options.

5. Cheapest Sky Cinema deal

The current listed Sky Cinema bundles are:

• Essential TV plus Sky Cinema: £25 a month; and
• Ultimate TV plus Sky Cinema: £34 a month.

Sky’s terms list Sky Cinema at £14 a month extra with a qualifying 24-month Streaming TV term, or £17 a month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription or outside the minimum term. The advertised bundle prices are therefore better treated as specific promotions rather than a universal formula.

Sky Cinema currently includes Paramount+ Basic with Ads at no extra cost, subject to activation and the current terms. A promotion also offers up to two standard Vue cinema tickets each month, valid Sunday to Thursday, with the Vue promotion listed as running until 30 June 2027. Exclusions, availability and redemption rules mean the tickets should not be valued like guaranteed cash.

Choose Essential TV plus Cinema if films are your priority and you do not need the broader Ultimate channel bundle. The £9 difference to Ultimate TV plus Cinema may be reasonable for a household that will use Sky Max, Sky Witness, Disney+ or HBO Max as well. UHD and Dolby Atmos are not automatically included: the additional Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos pack is listed at £6 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription.

6. Best Sky broadband-only deal

Sky’s current broadband page lists the following new-customer offers with no upfront fee and up to £200 switching credit:

Which speed should you buy?

• Full Fibre 100: likely enough for one or two light users, ordinary browsing, video calls and routine streaming.
• 500Mbps: the sensible value choice for many families, particularly where several people stream, game or download at once.
• 900Mbps: a strong speed-for-price option where available, but most ordinary browsing and streaming will not feel three times faster than a 300Mbps connection.
• 2.5Gbps: mainly for very large households or specialist heavy users with compatible devices; the service is available to only a small proportion of UK homes.

Advertised speeds are average fixed-line speeds to the Sky Hub, not a guaranteed Wi-Fi speed in every room. Home layout, interference, router position, device capability and the internal network can reduce the result. Check whether WiFi Max or additional pods cost extra, and whether your devices can use the advertised speed. Sky’s broadband offer page provides the address-level check.

7. Sky Stream, Sky Glass or Sky Q?

Sky Stream: best for an existing TV

Sky Stream is suitable for renters, people who already own a television and households that do not want a satellite dish. It needs a television with an HDMI port and a recommended minimum broadband speed of 25Mbps.

It does not record programmes to a traditional hard drive. Instead, it uses a Playlist to save and organise programmes from supported services. Live TV can be paused or rewound for up to 45 minutes, but this is not equivalent to a Sky Q recording library. The puck is loaned rather than owned and must be returned after the relevant subscription ends. Existing Sky Q recordings do not transfer to Stream.

Sky Glass Air and Glass Gen 2

Sky Glass Air is currently listed in 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. The 4K UHD television is advertised from £6 a month on a 48-month interest-free loan, with £20 upfront. The 43-inch model has a listed total price of £309.

Sky Glass Gen 2 is also available in 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sizes and includes a built-in soundbar. It is advertised from £14 a month on a 48-month interest-free loan, with £20 upfront. The 43-inch model has a listed total price of £699.

The crucial budgeting point is that the Glass finance payment is not the full Sky cost. A Sky streaming TV subscription is required from £15 a month. On the displayed minimum figures, Glass Air would therefore be at least about £21 a month before broadband, upfront payment and optional add-ons, while Gen 2 would be at least about £29 a month before those extras.

UHD and Dolby Atmos require the additional pack, listed at £6 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription. A £25 return fee applies if Glass is returned during the 31-day cooling-off period. The Glass Air offer checked on 10 August 2026 was listed through 11 August 2026, so remove or update this price immediately if the offer has expired.

Where Sky Q fits

Sky Q remains relevant to existing customers who want satellite delivery, traditional hard-drive recordings, existing recordings or a familiar multiroom setup. Sky says Sky Q is no longer available to buy through the normal online route, although customers can contact Sky or visit a retail store to ask about ordering it. It is therefore more accurate to describe Sky Q as restricted through online sales than as either fully discontinued or freely available to every new customer. 8. The contract and total-cost checks that matter

Do not compare monthly prices alone

Use this calculation before accepting an offer:

Total cost = (promotional monthly price × promotional months) + upfront fees + equipment finance + compulsory add-ons − confirmed account credit

Do not subtract a voucher at full face value unless you would genuinely use it. A lower monthly rate can also hide a slower broadband speed, a short-lived add-on discount or a new minimum term.

Minimum terms and rolling options

Most Sky TV, Streaming TV, broadband, Talk, mobile and add-on products can carry minimum terms. Sky says most products use 12- or 24-month minimum terms, while 31-day rolling options exist for some TV services and add-ons. The 24-month price is usually lower, but it is a poor deal if you expect to move home, cancel soon or change provider.

Early termination charges can apply to Sky TV, Streaming TV, Sky Broadband, Sky Talk, Sky Mobile and related products. The amount depends on the product, remaining term, price and billing position. Read Sky’s early termination guidance before cancelling.

Price rises during and after the term

Sky’s 2026 changes included a £3 monthly increase for many broadband customers, £1 to £3 increases for base and premium TV packages, and a £1 increase for home phone. Many Sky Mobile customers saw a £1.50 monthly increase from 14 February 2026. Some add-ons, including HD or UHD, Kids, Multiscreen and Whole Home, did not change in that round, while some new products had the increase built into their initial price.

Sky’s broadband terms also state that after the 24-month minimum term, the monthly broadband price becomes the price immediately before the end of the term plus £5, subject to the applicable terms and subsequent price changes. Offer-specific legal text can show a different standard component price, as with the £41 Ultimate TV and 900Mbps bundle, so check the exact contract rather than assuming the post-term bill will be the promotional price plus £5.

Sky Broadband and home-phone customers generally had 30 days from notification to cancel penalty-free following the relevant price-rise notification. Sky Q customers also gained penalty-free cancellation rights in the relevant circumstances. Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers generally do not have the same mid-contract right because they are internet-delivered TV products. When broadband and TV were taken as one bundle at the same time, Sky told MoneySavingExpert that customers could cancel the whole package in relevant circumstances; separately acquired services may have different rights. Treat this as product-specific consumer guidance, not universal legal advice, and check the notification and current terms.

9. How existing Sky customers can get a better price

New-customer prices are not automatically available to existing customers. Before renewal, compare your current package with the equivalent live offer and then ask Sky to review the price.

1. Check your contract end date in My Sky.
2. Write down your exact TV package, broadband speed, add-ons and equipment.
3. Find the equivalent current new-customer price, including the same Sports, Cinema, HD, UHD, Whole Home and WiFi features.
4. Check alternative prices at your postcode.
5. Contact Sky before the minimum term ends.
6. Explain that the current price is not competitive and that you are considering leaving.
7. Ask whether you can speak to cancellations or retentions.
8. Ask for the complete monthly price, not just the discount amount.
9. Ask whether accepting the offer starts a new 12- or 24-month minimum term.
10. Confirm which channels, streaming services and equipment remain included.
11. Ask for the offer in writing or verify it in My Sky before accepting.
12. Compare the total 12- or 24-month cost, including expected price changes.

MoneySavingExpert reports that a previous poll found 68% of Sky broadband and TV customers who haggled were successful. Its later digital-TV guide refers to a separate January 2026 poll with a 65% Sky success rate. These are survey results, not a guaranteed probability of receiving a discount. 10. When NOW, Virgin Media or separate streaming is cheaper

NOW for flexibility

NOW is usually the first alternative to compare when you already have suitable broadband and only want Sky content occasionally. It can be better for one-off matches, short sports seasons, students, renters and anyone avoiding a 24-month Sky contract.

Sky is more likely to make sense for a year-round viewer who wants broadband and TV together, Sky Atlantic and other Sky channels, several bundled streaming services and one bill. Compare the actual yearly cost, including broadband, rather than comparing a NOW pass with Sky’s TV-only price.

Virgin Media for bundled TV and broadband

Virgin Media is worth checking if Sky’s faster broadband is unavailable at your address, or if you want broadband and TV with traditional recording or multiroom features. MoneySavingExpert’s June 2026 comparison listed indicative Virgin Media prices of about £35 a month for an entertainment bundle, £55 for a sports bundle, £65 for sports plus cinema and £75 for a higher-tier bundle including an O2 SIM.

These are not like-for-like national prices. Channel line-ups, equipment, contract terms, annual rises and postcode availability differ, so use a live address check. The MSE comparison is a useful starting point.

Freeview and separate streaming services

If you do not need Sky Atlantic, premium films or live sport, Freeview, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 and individual streaming subscriptions may cost less and avoid a long contract. This is particularly relevant if you already have a television and broadband. Count the subscriptions you would actually keep for a full year before deciding that a bundle is cheaper.

Which Sky deal should you choose?

• Choose Essential TV at £15 a month if you mainly want Sky Atlantic, basic entertainment and a low committed price.
• Choose Ultimate TV at £24 a month if you will use the extra Sky channels and included ad-supported Disney+ and HBO Max tiers.
• Choose Ultimate TV plus 900Mbps at £41 a month if you genuinely need both the full entertainment bundle and fast broadband, and the address checker confirms availability.
• Choose Essential TV plus Full Fibre 150 at £35 a month for a basic TV-and-broadband bundle where the 150Mbps offer is available and 900Mbps offers no additional value.
• Choose NOW for occasional or seasonal sport when flexibility matters more than a single bundled bill.
• Choose Sky Glass only after adding the required Sky TV subscription, 48-month equipment finance and any UHD or Dolby Atmos cost.
• Stay with or seek Sky Q if traditional recording and satellite delivery are essential.

Can I get Sky without a satellite dish?

Yes. Sky Stream and Sky Glass deliver television over broadband and do not require a satellite dish. Sky Stream requires a compatible television with an HDMI port; Glass includes the television itself.

Does Sky Stream record programmes?

No, not in the traditional Sky Q hard-drive sense. Sky Stream uses a Playlist and can pause or rewind live TV for up to 45 minutes. Existing Sky Q recordings do not transfer to Sky Stream or Glass.

Does Sky Glass include the Sky TV subscription?

No. The Glass payment is for the television hardware, normally through a 48-month interest-free loan. A Sky streaming TV subscription is also required, currently from £15 a month, before broadband and optional UHD, Dolby Atmos, Sports or Cinema costs.

Can I get Sky TV without Sky Broadband?

Yes. Sky Stream and Glass can use a suitable broadband service from another provider. Sky recommends at least 25Mbps, and actual performance depends on the connection, Wi-Fi and home network. Sky TV does not automatically require Sky Broadband.

How long are Sky contracts?

Many Sky products use 12- or 24-month minimum terms. Some TV services and add-ons have 31-day rolling options, usually at a higher monthly price. Check every product in a bundle because separate services can have separate minimum terms.

Do Sky prices rise during the contract?

They can. Sky made several product price changes in 2026, and some offers state that prices may change during a 24-month term. Check the specific contract and the post-promotion price rather than assuming the headline rate is fixed.

Can existing Sky customers get new-customer prices?

Not automatically. New-customer deals often exclude existing customers. Existing customers can check the equivalent live price and ask Sky’s retentions team for a new offer, but should confirm the full price, inclusions and any new minimum term in writing.

How does Sky switching credit work?

It is account credit rather than cash. Depending on the offer, you may need to switch broadband and line rental, pay qualifying charges from your old provider, submit proof within 90 days of activation and remain eligible until the credit is applied. The maximum is up to £300 on some bundles and up to £200 on some broadband-only deals.

Is Sky Q still available to new customers?

Sky Q is no longer available through the normal online sales route. Sky says customers can still contact it or visit a retail store to ask about ordering, so availability should be checked directly rather than described as universally discontinued.

What happens if I already subscribe separately to Netflix, Disney+ or HBO Max?

Check which account is being activated through Sky and cancel any duplicate direct subscription if appropriate. Sky’s included tiers are generally ad-supported, and upgrading to ad-free or premium versions costs extra.

Is Sky or NOW cheaper for occasional sport?

NOW is usually more flexible for occasional viewing because a Day Membership is listed from £14.99 and does not require a Sky TV contract. Sky may be better for year-round sport combined with broadband, general TV and a single bill. Compare the total cost for the period you will actually watch.

The Bottom Line

The best Sky deal for most new customers is not automatically the cheapest headline. Essential TV at £15 a month is the low-cost TV choice; Ultimate TV plus 900Mbps broadband at £41 a month is the strongest all-round promotion where available; and NOW is often better for occasional sport. Before ordering, check the postcode, minimum term, add-ons, price-rise terms, post-promotion bill, equipment ownership and switching-credit conditions. For existing customers, compare the live new-customer price and negotiate before accepting a renewal.
