The best salary account in the UAE depends on your salary, the way your employer sends it, and whether you can meet a bank’s balance, spending, or transfer conditions. The offers below were checked on 8 October 2026; campaign terms are not 2025 offers and can change, so confirm the current terms with the bank before applying.
Compare the salary accounts and offers
The figures below are published by the banks, not an independent ranking. Account eligibility and promotional eligibility are separate: qualifying to open or use an account does not necessarily qualify you for its campaign.
| Bank and product | Published terms | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Emirates NBD current account | AED account with a free debit card and cheque-book facility. The bank lists a minimum AED 5,000 salary transfer for payroll customers. Its page lists Emirates ID, passport, and alternative salary documentation for expatriate applicants. Emirates NBD account details. | Check the current fee schedule and the specific account package rules. The AED 5,000 threshold is not the separate campaign threshold. |
| Emirates NBD 2026 salary campaign | For the campaign, salary must be at least AED 10,000 and monthly average balance AED 25,000. The campaign lists base and bonus annual rates for residents and Emiratis and a six-month reward period. A further 0.50 percentage point requires a new credit card and AED 10,000 spend within 60 days. Validity: 1 February–31 December 2026. Campaign details. | Consider whether you can hold the required balance and meet the card-spend condition. Compare the six-month period with ongoing rates, fees, and other account terms. |
| Mashreq NEO salary transfer | Cashback eligibility requires at least AED 5,000 monthly salary credited by a UAE-registered employer through a method Mashreq recognises. Cashback is paid in installments; two consecutive missed salary transfers within the relevant period may trigger clawback. Mashreq offer details. | Ask payroll to confirm it can use the bank-recognised route. Check the installment schedule and the consequences of missed transfers. |
| FAB salary transfer | FAB advertises 20% cashback, up to AED 9,000 over 12 months. The page also lists conditional benefits such as a zero-balance account, free local ATM withdrawals, or free international remittances, subject to terms. FAB offer details. | Confirm which account benefit applies to you, plus the full eligibility rules and payout schedule. |
| ADCB current account | The standard account page lists a minimum monthly salary of AED 5,000 for UAE residents employed in the country. Monthly fees may apply if the relevant segment balance criteria are not met. The page sets out resident eligibility and required documents. ADCB account details. | Check the segment balance rules and possible monthly fees before comparing any promotional reward. |
| ADCB salary-transfer campaign | The campaign is valid 8 September–31 December 2026 and requires a minimum net salary of AED 10,000, AED 1,000 card spend, and continued eligibility during a 12-month qualifying period; clawback conditions apply. Company eligibility restrictions also apply. Campaign details. | Confirm your employer is eligible and that you can meet the spend and continued-eligibility requirements. These are campaign conditions, not the standard account’s salary threshold. |
Check that your salary transfer qualifies
A regular incoming payment is not always a qualifying salary transfer. Mashreq’s terms say salary must be credited by the customer’s UAE-registered employer through the correct channel and method recognised by the bank. Its cashback page excludes cash, cheque, remittance, and direct transfers from its offer definition. Confirm the routing with both your payroll team and the bank before relying on an offer.
Keep the two thresholds distinct. For example, Emirates NBD lists AED 5,000 for payroll customers on its current-account page, while its 2026 campaign requires AED 10,000 salary and an AED 25,000 monthly average balance. ADCB likewise lists AED 5,000 for its standard account, but its separate campaign sets a AED 10,000 minimum net salary plus other conditions.

Compare the reward with its conditions and timing
Headline amounts are not directly comparable. Cashback paid in installments, interest tied to a maintained balance, and a reward requiring card spending have different costs and timelines. Work out what you can actually receive, when it would arrive, and what you must do to keep it.
- Installments and clawback: Mashreq says cashback is paid in installments and consecutive missed salary transfers can trigger clawback under the relevant terms.
- Balance and card spend: Emirates NBD’s campaign ties its advertised interest to a salary and monthly average balance; an extra 0.50 percentage point has a new-card and spend condition.
- Spend and continued eligibility: ADCB’s campaign requires card spend and a 12-month qualifying period, with clawback conditions.
- Payout schedule: FAB advertises up to AED 9,000 over 12 months. Check the detailed campaign terms to establish the conditions and timing that apply to your case.
Choose based on the account you will use after the offer
Assess the everyday account separately from a temporary campaign. FAB’s page describes options including local ATM withdrawals and international remittances, subject to account choice and terms. Emirates NBD lists a free debit card and cheque-book facility on its current-account page. ADCB warns that monthly fees may apply when segment balance criteria are not met. Check each bank’s current fees and package rules rather than assuming a campaign benefit makes the underlying account free.

- Check the complete reward schedule, card-spend requirements, qualifying period, missed-transfer rules, and any clawback.
- Compare recurring services you will use—such as ATM access, remittances, debit-card features, or cheque-book facilities—with the temporary reward.
