Those are historical promotional prices, not current offers. The sale also covered bundles, controllers, PlayStation VR2, selected games, and PlayStation Plus; the best value depended on what was included, where it was sold, and when that retailer’s offer ended.
What were the best PS5 console deals in the U.S.?
USA TODAY’s November 22, 2024 roundup, updated November 29, reported the following prices. Amazon’s listed prices differed slightly from the headline figures in the roundup; these were dated retailer offers, not a uniform price available everywhere.

Selected PS5 games
USA TODAY described discounts of up to 60% on selected PS5 games and gave Gran Turismo 7 and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut as examples priced at $29.99 from $69.99. These were title-specific offers, not a price for every game or seller. A digital PlayStation Store discount and a physical retailer’s copy are separate offers, so check the format and seller before comparing.
How did PlayStation Plus fit into the promotion?
Sony advertised savings of up to 30% on a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership for eligible people joining during the promotion. Certain current members received different plan-upgrade offers: 25% or 30% discounts, depending on the offer. Membership renews, and Sony said terms applied; check the plan, eligibility, renewal terms, and final checkout price rather than treating the discount as a one-time console deal. Details were in Sony’s November 20, 2024 announcement.

When did the 2024 promotion run, and why did offers vary?
Sony’s official promotion ran November 22 through December 2, 2024, across PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, PlayStation Gear, and participating retailers. Sony cautioned that “offers will vary by region and retailer.” Individual retailer promotions could have different end dates, and stock, pickup or delivery availability, bundle contents, and local pricing could also differ. Sony’s announcement is at PlayStation.Blog.
The comparison was not identical outside the United States: Push Square’s guide reported different UK prices. The U.S. figures above should not be read as global pricing or as live listings.

How to judge a Black Friday console offer
- Confirm whether the listing is the disc-drive PS5 Slim or Digital Edition.
- For a bundle, identify the included game or content and make sure it adds value for you.
- Compare the same edition and format across sellers; distinguish a digital game offer from a physical copy.
- Check the retailer’s own end date, stock, and delivery or pickup options.
- For PlayStation Plus, distinguish a new membership from an existing-member upgrade and review recurring billing terms.
