FameSwap and SWAPD are two places to investigate listings for Facebook Pages, but neither is a Meta-approved marketplace or a guarantee of a safe purchase. A marketplace’s escrow may reduce the risk of paying a seller who does not deliver; it cannot guarantee that a Page’s followers are genuine, that monetization will continue, or that Meta will not restrict the Page.
For a buyer, the central question is not just where to shop. It is whether the seller can prove ownership, audience quality, rights to the content, policy standing, and a complete transfer of control. Do not buy a personal Facebook profile or exchange personal passwords. For a Page tied to a real company or publication, acquiring the business and its documented digital assets is usually more defensible than buying an isolated Page.
Is buying a Facebook Page allowed?
Meta does not operate an official Facebook Page resale store. A third-party marketplace can introduce buyers to sellers and provide transaction tools, but it cannot make a sale compliant with Meta’s terms or bind Meta to preserve the Page afterward.
Meta’s Terms of Service govern use of Facebook, and its Commercial Terms apply to business use, including managing a Page. The Commercial Terms state that rights or obligations under those terms may not be transferred without consent. That is a platform-contract issue; it does not by itself establish that every transaction involving a Page is automatically illegal or prohibited in every jurisdiction. The legal result can also depend on the deal structure, intellectual-property rights, consumer-protection law, taxes, and what is actually being sold.

Distinguish assigning Page access through Meta’s administrative tools from handing over a personal profile or claiming that contractual rights have transferred. Never buy a personal Facebook account, share a personal password, or accept a handoff that leaves undisclosed people with full control. Meta warns users about password sharing, phishing, and moving transactions off-platform when that creates fraud risk (Meta scam guidance).
A Page may also have accumulated copyright, trademark, spam, advertising, or monetization problems. A change in control does not erase its history, and a marketplace cannot promise that Meta will not take later action.
Where to look—and what each marketplace can and cannot do
| Option | Useful for | Main caution |
|---|---|---|
| FameSwap | Searching social-media listings and using its stated messaging, offer, and escrow process | Facebook-specific inventory and current transaction terms need confirmation |
| SWAPD | Comparing Facebook-related listings alongside other digital assets | Listings and services vary in quality; no dependable public fee schedule is established here |
| Direct seller or private broker | Experienced parties arranging a bespoke transaction | Highest payment, misrepresentation, recovery, and dispute risk without independent safeguards |
| Build a Page | Brands that need direct ownership and a clean history | Takes time to develop an audience |
FameSwap
FameSwap presents itself as a marketplace for established social-media properties and describes listing review, buyer-seller messaging, account statistics, offers, escrow, an inspection period, and transfer assistance. Its public site is more visibly oriented toward TikTok, YouTube, and theme pages than toward clearly documented Facebook Page inventory, so confirm that the specific Page and transfer workflow suit your transaction.

FameSwap’s published escrow-fee article states a standard fee of 5% of the offer price or $50 minimum, whichever is greater, for eligible transactions over $100. It also describes a 3% or $50 minimum rate for certain premium members as a limited-time offer. Treat these as published fee signals, not guaranteed current quotes; check the applicable fee and terms before paying.

Its listing guide says sellers must verify ownership, gives a $100 minimum listing price, and says reviews commonly take 24 to 72 hours. These are statements about FameSwap’s listing process, not proof that a Page has valuable followers, rights-cleared content, or durable monetization.
SWAPD
SWAPD is a broader digital-rights marketplace; its marketplace pages show Facebook-related listings that may describe a niche, audience geography, follower count, and monetization. Seller histories, discussions, and community reputation signals can provide context, but they are not substitutes for live Page Insights, policy checks, ownership evidence, or a written agreement. The available evidence does not establish a dependable, universal public fee schedule.

Listings and services span a wide range. Offers involving account recovery, verification, unbanning, or username claims should not be assumed legitimate or Meta-authorized. Claims such as “organic,” “fully monetized,” or “zero violations” need independent proof.
Other listings and direct deals
Forums, smaller marketplaces, brokers, and direct messages may surface additional offers, but a listing alone is not a meaningful trust signal. Do not treat sellers of followers, likes, instant monetization, personal accounts, or credential-based recovery as alternatives to acquiring a legitimate audience. Unless a venue’s current identity, Facebook inventory, fees, escrow terms, and dispute process are clear, do not rank it alongside marketplaces whose processes are documented.

“Facebook Page” can mean different things in a sale. Get a written inventory that specifies which assets and rights are included, and do not assume that access to the Page conveys ownership of the surrounding business.

- Easy to use: With a Google Play gift code, you never have to worry about expiration dates or fees.
- Page only: Page identity, posts, audience, and Page-level access. Confirm who controls it through any Business Account or Business Portfolio.
- Business Portfolio and connected assets: Identify whether Instagram, ad accounts, datasets or pixels, catalogs, shops, domains, and other business resources are included and can be transferred.
- Operating business or media property: Specify the website, domain, email list, trademarks, original content files, sponsorship contracts, creator or licensing agreements, customer data, and revenue rights. These may require separate legal and technical transfers.
- Monetization: Identify the specific Meta monetization product, its current eligibility status, payout arrangements, and whether tax or identity verification must be completed again. Revenue may instead come from sponsors, affiliates, or another source.
Do not treat the seller’s use of the word “monetized” as proof that approval, payout access, or earnings will transfer to you.
How to judge whether the Page is worth buying
Follower count is a poor stand-alone valuation method. A smaller audience in the right city and language can be more useful to a local business than a much larger international audience that does not match its customers.
Measure the audience and its behavior
- Review median reach per post, reach relative to follower count, engagement relative to reach, video completion, and repeat commenters.
- Check audience geography, language, age distribution, and whether those people match the buyer’s intended market.
- Compare follower growth with posting history and traffic sources; ask for explanations of unusual spikes, drops, or unfollows.
- Assess topic continuity and the quality of comments. Giveaway-driven activity, generic comments, or a sudden shift in language can make headline engagement misleading.
- Separate organic reach from paid promotion and one-off viral performance.
Assess rights, policy status, and revenue quality
- Confirm the seller can document rights to the Page’s name, images, videos, music, and other content. Check for copyright, trademark, reused-content, spam, advertising, and monetization notices.
- Review the Page’s current policy or account-status screens and available history. A clean screen today is not a promise against future enforcement.
- For monetization claims, verify the active product in Meta’s dashboard, current eligibility, warnings, payout records, and any country, identity, or tax requirements. Determine whether earnings recur or depend on a seasonal campaign or single viral post.
- Check whether revenue is from Meta or from sponsorships, affiliate links, or other contracts, and whether those agreements can be assigned.
Value a Page from verified, risk-adjusted economics rather than a universal “followers times price” formula. Consider documented profit, revenue concentration, audience relevance, reach, production work, rights and policy risk, transfer risk, likely audience loss after a rebrand, and the value of separately included assets. A useful ceiling is the expected profit you can reasonably recover during your payback period, minus transfer and remediation costs and a contingency reserve. Marketplace asking prices are seller expectations, not evidence of completed-sale values.

Due-diligence checklist before paying
Ask for recent evidence generated inside Meta’s own interfaces and matched to the Page being sold. Prefer a live screen share or controlled temporary access over screenshots alone; images can be cropped, outdated, altered, or from a different Page. Do not request a personal password or authentication code.
- Record the Page URL, Page ID, creation date or oldest available activity, and any available history of name or category changes.
- Ask the seller to show Page access and the Business Account or Business Portfolio that owns or controls it. Identify all admins, partners, and linked assets.
- Review Page Quality or account status and any visible copyright, trademark, advertising, spam, or monetization notices.
- Request at least 12 months of reach, impressions, views, engagement, follower trends, traffic sources, and top-post performance, with audience geography, age, gender, and language.
- Ask for a live explanation of major audience or revenue spikes and drops, including whether growth came from paid promotion, giveaways, or a viral post.
- If revenue is claimed, identify its source and request dashboard evidence and payout records with sensitive details redacted. Establish whether the payout account and eligibility can change to the buyer.
- Obtain evidence that the seller controls the content and brand rights being conveyed, plus copies of relevant licenses and contracts.
- Ask the seller to confirm in writing that the Page is not pledged, disputed, or listed for sale elsewhere and to disclose all retained access.
- Use a signed purchase agreement to list each asset, right, liability, representation, payment condition, handoff duty, and remedy if the transfer fails.
How to transfer control without taking over a personal account
Use Meta’s access and business-management tools; do not exchange personal profile credentials. For a Page owned by a Business Account, Meta documents a release-request process. The currently documented route is Profile photo → See all profiles → select the Page → Page profile photo → Settings & privacy → Settings → Page setup → Page access → Request release. Meta says a request may remain pending for 30 days and, if approved, the Page is removed from the Business Account after a 72-hour grace period. A linked Instagram account may prevent a Business Admin from approving the request. Check Meta’s current Page-release instructions because labels and availability can vary by account, country, Page type, and configuration. This is an administrative feature, not Meta’s endorsement of a sale.
- Agree in writing on the exact Page, Business Portfolio, linked Instagram, domain, ad assets, content, contracts, and revenue rights included.
- Keep communications and payment within the marketplace’s official process when using its escrow; independently verify any payment or escrow link rather than following a seller-supplied link.
- Have the seller add the buyer’s business and authorized administrators through Meta’s official access tools. Confirm the buyer has the required full control and can administer the Page and included assets.
- Review the Business Portfolio, Page roles, partner access, ad accounts, datasets or pixels, catalogs, commerce accounts, linked Instagram, and domains. Resolve old ownership and linked-account issues before closing.
- Only after the buyer verifies the agreed control and assets should escrow release funds under its documented inspection and dispute terms.
- Remove the seller and undisclosed third parties where appropriate; rotate business email and recovery contacts, revoke connected apps and tokens, and enable two-factor authentication for every buyer-controlled administrator.
- Save the agreement, transfer records, analytics, status screens, and correspondence. Monitor access and Page status after closing.
Escrow can help with payment and delivery mechanics, but it cannot ensure that Meta will maintain the Page, that revenue will continue, or that no rights dispute will arise.
Red flags that justify walking away
- The seller asks for your Facebook password, two-factor code, recovery code, government ID sent to an unknown person, remote-control access, or login through a non-Meta site. Meta warns about clone sites and advises using official login flows (Meta’s explanation of clone-site safeguards).
- The seller insists on cryptocurrency, a wire to an individual, gift cards, friends-and-family payment, a “refundable verification deposit,” or immediate payment outside the marketplace’s process.
- They rush you, send a suspicious escrow link, refuse live Insights review, or provide analytics that cannot be matched to the Page.
- The Page has an unexplained follower spike, weak reach, irrelevant geography, repeated niche changes, giveaway-heavy engagement, or generic comments.
- “Guaranteed monetization,” “zero violations,” or “organic followers” cannot be supported with current dashboard evidence and rights documentation.
- The seller cannot show who owns the Page in the Business Account, will not remove hidden admins or partners, or cannot explain a linked Instagram or other asset.
- The Page has unresolved policy, copyright, trademark, or content-licensing issues, or the seller cannot prove rights to the material being sold.
Meta’s scam guidance identifies urgency, off-platform communication, phishing links, and requests for sensitive information as warning signs. If a transfer stalls, a Page is restricted, or a seller attempts recovery, stop the closing process, preserve evidence, and use the marketplace’s formal dispute path. Do not try to bypass Meta security or pay unofficial unban or recovery providers.
When buying makes sense—and when building is better
Consider buying only when
- The audience matches your niche and target market, with stable, documented organic reach.
- The seller can prove ownership, rights, and a clean-enough policy history for your risk tolerance.
- The transfer includes the assets and access your business actually needs, not merely Page-level access.
- The price is supported by verified profit or measurable customer-acquisition value, and you can absorb a decline in reach after a change in owner or content.
Build instead when
- You need a durable, customer-facing brand or dependable advertising, commerce, or monetization access.
- The listed audience is unrelated to your business, the seller cannot prove content rights, or the Page has policy concerns or abrupt niche changes.
- The Page’s value rests mostly on followers rather than repeatable reach, real customers, or verifiable earnings.
For a Page representing an actual company, publication, or brand, consider acquiring the legitimate business and its digital assets with appropriate legal and accounting support. For a small standalone listing, professional transaction costs may exceed a defensible value; for a larger deal involving a business, trademarks, contracts, or meaningful revenue, qualified legal and escrow support may be warranted. Neither generic escrow nor a lawyer can prevent Meta enforcement.
How to choose a transaction venue
Before using any marketplace, compare its current Facebook-specific inventory, published fees, escrow and inspection terms, seller verification, listing checks, dispute and refund process, on-platform communications, and identifiable terms and legal entity. Also check whether it is selling Pages or personal accounts and whether listings disclose policy status and audience evidence. FameSwap and SWAPD are starting points to investigate, not endorsements or assurances. If a seller cannot verify ownership, audience quality, rights, policy status, and complete control transfer, walk away.
