PDW expands W.U.U.L.F. as “W.ilderness U.tility U.rban L.ay F.lat” and describes the W.U.U.L.F. Pack 24L as a modern interpretation of a top-loading alpine-style pack. Its nominal capacity is 24L; PDW says it can expand beyond 28L.

The top-loading format is paired with a two-way front zipper that creates a second entry point and lets the pack open broadly when laid flat. The waist belt is removable.
For a city trip, the lay-flat opening may be convenient when you want broad access to packed items, while the sleeve offers a dedicated place for a laptop or tablet. Check your device’s dimensions against the current product listing before buying; the listed feature alone does not establish that every device will fit.

PDW’s backpack collection describes the All Terrain Pack 24L as IPX7-rated, with a YKK Aquaseal waterproof main zipper and fully welded seams. That makes it the water-protection-oriented option among these three based on the manufacturer’s stated construction.
The collection listing does not provide an independent test report or comparative test against the S.H.A.D.O. and W.U.U.L.F. Treat the rating and waterproof-construction description as manufacturer claims, not proof of how the pack will perform in a particular downpour, during prolonged exposure, or in real-world use.

How to choose for a city trip
- Choose the S.H.A.D.O. if access to two compartments and its named organization system are more useful to you than a lay-flat opening.
- Choose the W.U.U.L.F. if you want a top-loading pack with a second, wide-opening access point, or need the flexibility of its removable padded device sleeve.
- Consider the All Terrain if the manufacturer-stated water-protection features are your deciding factor, while keeping in mind that the available listing is not an independent performance test.
- Think about volume and shape. The S.H.A.D.O. and W.U.U.L.F. are both named 24L models; PDW says the W.U.U.L.F. expands beyond 28L. More capacity is only useful if you need it, and an alpine-inspired design may be more pack than you want for a low-profile office commute.
- Match structure to your carry. PDW lists a frame sheet and belt system for the S.H.A.D.O., and a padded ventilated suspension plus removable belt for the W.U.U.L.F. Consider how much structure you want for longer walks and whether you will actually use the belt.
