Choose Alpha 25L for a fuller day or an overnight
The Alpha 25L is the clearest option in the range when you want more room for a workday, gym gear, or an overnight load. OGIO lists 17 functional pockets, a 25-liter capacity, and a dedicated laptop compartment compatible with laptops up to 17 inches. The page also describes recycled polyester fabrics with a water-repellent finish; that is not the same as a waterproof rating.
Choose Alpha 20L for a lighter everyday load
The Alpha 20L keeps the Alpha line’s daily-use and travel positioning in a smaller listed capacity. Its comparison-chart features include 15 pockets, a tablet sleeve, full-panel opening, air-mesh back panel and straps, and two bottle pockets. Consider it if you want room for a laptop and daily essentials without the additional capacity of the 25L.

Choose Alpha Lite for a simpler school or daily-use pack
OGIO lists the 19L Alpha Lite with nine pockets and a laptop/tablet sleeve, but no dedicated laptop compartment. If padded, separate laptop storage is important, compare another model or verify the exact sleeve’s construction and dimensions before choosing it.
Choose Alpha Packable as extra travel carry

Look to Rise or sport-specific packs for specialized gear
OGIO’s catalog includes Rise and sport-specific packs, including pickleball products. These may better suit school or a particular sport than a general-purpose commuter backpack; compare their layouts with what you actually need to carry.

How to choose an OGIO backpack
- Start with your load. OGIO’s rule of thumb is that 20L suits daily commuting and lighter loads, while 25L gives more room for a fuller workday, gym gear, or an overnight. Treat this as the manufacturer’s guidance, not a universal packing standard.
- Measure your laptop. Laptop compartment sizing varies by model. Compare your device’s height, width, and thickness with the product-page dimensions. A “fits up to 17 inches” claim is not a guarantee that every laptop with a 17-inch screen diagonal will fit.
